It isnt really going to be used much on the road, maybe once a month on a sunny weekend then its just trackdays and shows! lol

Trumpets are 80mm in length and 45mm. The throttle mechanism is on the right. where you see the cable going thru the bracket right there, then he used stonger srings in the middle.

Havent got the power figure yet because of the problems in had with the inner cv join, he didnt wanna run it oonce it happened. Once its sorted then he'll do it again. The bloke from track n road isn''t mapping it, mark from Saxon is just uses the rollers.

My other mounts are fast road, the booy that works with himm uses the same front mount on his mk2 golf which is used everyday and near gave him problems. thats why I went with it, forgot u use to have one stu.

The spec is:

Kent 278 inlet and exhaust cams
Solid one piece valves
Motorsport valve springs
Jenvy 45mm trumpets 80mm long
Ported and polished head
Throttle body manifold matched to inlet ports
Complete new exhaust system, spec on previous page i think.

So Stu & Rob what sort of power/torque should i be pleased to get???

Oh oil cooler as a themrosat set to 90c so the oil will get up to temmp first lol

and stu have u lighten ur flywheel? I hope the brand new oem bolts i fitted 2 years agoare up to it. Miine is now half the weight that it use to be

Jenvey don't make an 80x45, nor does anybody else, I think it'll be a 60 or 90mm

you'll see the other side 200bhp otherwise i'd be pissed, interesting that sombody else is mapping it, seems an awfully long way to come to use sombody elses rollers

I'm not being mean but thank god! Cause if you did it before I will be wimping the box off lol. I remember adding more loctite to the bolts to and managed to torque them up.... guess if it does go then it will be plans for a 9A block and all the toys! lol But its not something I wanna do.

so why would you upgrade to a 9A block?

Thought it was a better block than the ABF? Be honest I won't touch the bottom end now unless something happens! :blink: :confused: :headhurt:

Oh and I will check on my length of the trumpets with him and let you both know.

A common upgrade for people with 1.8 (KR/ADL-type for eg) engines is to use a 9A block as its the same size, but 2L capacity. As you already have a 2L (and more modern) ABF engine, there is not really any benefit to swapping it for a 9A - the only very marginal benefit would be that the 9A is 17mm shorter, so the weight of the top end of the engine is lower in the chassis, and it gives you 17mm more space inder the bonnet for whatever. But equally, you could argue that the ABF has more power potential from having a longer conrod...but that again is marginal benefits.

The benefit of bottom end work is to increase the compression ratio, which gives large benefits on these engines when coupled with even wilder cam profiles (the more compression you run, the more cam you can run and have it retain drivability throughout the rev range - stick mad cams in a car with stock CR and it will be horrible, no midrange at all).

My engine has very hot cams, but because it also has a high CR, it has lots of midrange as well as quite good top to boot

As the bottom end is stock, be careful with your rev limit.....7700 max......or you could receive a large bill, stay the right side of 8K at least

Well yesterday I got very bored with waiting for ther Sky man to come to fix my phone line and I have been speaking to Mark about Rolling Road results and how you can tell they been played with etc... or when something doesn't look right.

So I decided to look at my rolling road figures that were done at Westec after my engine work at Stealth Racing and the print out from Stealth Racing I never really looked at these in detail untill yesterday and was shocked tof what I found:

Looking at the print out from Stealth Racing where it pulled 190.2bhp @ 7002rpm & 150.3 lbs/ft @ 6265rpm.

I put these two print outs back to back and up to the light and the torque figure should pass through once at about 4500-5500rpm but they will pass it twice once at 300rpm mark and then again at 4500rpm???

But on the Westec print out it produced 184.11bhp @ 7101rpm & 143 lbs/ft @ 6500rpm

Once again the rolling road lottery but now the torque will cross the bhp curve at 5500rpm?

So I would say that Stealth Racing did frig the print out slighly to give the more reading I wanted.

Anyway back to today and what I had, Mark gave me a result on Tuesday because he managed to get the runs in before the drive shaft started bouncing lol. But he's fixed that now and said he's pleased with the map so not going any further with it so now I will tell all!

The car produced 206.4bhp @ 8020rpm & 142.3 lbs/ft at 6931rpm with a lot of that torque avaiavble at 3000rpm instead of the 4500rpm that it was before, had to drive it like it was a v-tec lmao.

Here's the print out: (the spiking you see at the higher rev range is before of the driveshaft bouncing)

And as I was bored yesterday I ploted the torque curve onto my one at Westec after the engine work at Stealth Racing... it's not the best way to compare because of the different rollers used and the on at Westec was a RR Day so the rollers didn't have a break, etc.... But gives you an idea of how different the car is now.

Also bear in mind I ploted it by hand so not 100% perfect :)

I was hoping/day dreaming for more around 210bhp mark but the differenace in what it was like before and now is a good improvement! and not far off 207bhp with a standard bottom end is about right and good figure!

He had the sump off to fit a baffled sump and of course the head and commented on how clean my bottom end is and that it breathes very well as not once on the roller did it spit out any oil on the catcher tank.
