My front two are now knackered thankfully. Roll on the better weather for some R1R's or 888's :D

Thankfullly? So you really hate these tyres? I find that bizarre how you're the only one on the thread who feels this way. If you really didn't like them you could have sold them to someone else as part-worn.

I think that it's good for us to have a mixed bag of responses on this thread as it shows that they're not for everyone, but at the same time I want to know more about why you don't rate them and what you think is better, as I find it hard to understand how someone could hate these tyres. I used to own a pair of F1s (non assymetrics) but I rate the Vreddies.

My previous comments say it all really. I honestly rate the F1 Assy's better in every way except for wet weather grip. The fact that these tyres have only lasted a few thousand miles means the wear is no better on them than other tyres either. Therefore I rate them less highly than the the Goodyears and I cant wait to knacker out the remaining two tyres I have so I can get 4 brand new decent tyres on for the good weather coming in :)

Wow this thread is confusing...get them, don't get them, best/worst tyre ever!

All I know is that I fitted FK452's before the map and since then they have really been struggling and I need to upgrade. I had T1R's on my old Civic which were great but the car was totally different and with alot less torque, I really need a tyre than can deal with it and I am not sure a T1-R is up to the job?

GY F1 Assy are £110 each + fitting, that's alot of cash but then again I don't mind paying it if they're going to be superb. However, previous posts indicate that they're awful in the wet and living in a country with wet weather 75% of the year, that's not a good thing.

So really it appears my choice boils down to T1R's or Vredestein. Has anyone run a direct comparison?

I'll be honest, I've never heard of Vredestein before but I am open to them, my only issue is that they look alot like the Pirelli P-Zero Rosso from the sidewall which was a blocky, ugly looking tyre where as I remember the T1-R being a whole lot nicer to look at on the rim.

I think whatt Horace is saying is that he rates the F1 assys better, not that the Vreddies are shyte.

I would recommend these 100% and I think Horace is the only one on here who doesn't seem to like them.

Also I think they're a really good looking tyre ;)

I got a set of four "verrdiis" fitted about 2K ago because of this thread.

They are Great tyres, much better than the two sets of Pirellis I have had.

My Cupra is just over 2 years old with 54K on the clock and I was getting fed up of the loud cabin noise, they have made a big difference to this and they grip in all conditions alot better.:D

I'll swear I had some better ones, but these are all I can find right now:

Similar figure so I think i'll give them a try if you rate them. Judging by that figure, you got your car problems sorted in the end too.

Well have found them for £86 each delievered at Elite tyres. Luckily I know a tyre fitter too :)

That figure was achieved with the issues, apparently the Vredesteins do not give a great RR figure, which was to blame for the "issues", people on this thread say that they slip on the rollers  Still, i got 251 bhp with 286 lb/ft, so no too bad.
Apart from that i cannot fault them. in real world performance I think they're excellent, rain, snow, whatever the weather.

As I've posted elsewhere on here, I had a full set of 225/40 R18 92Y Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's fitted at the beginning of January - £84 each from Camskill plus £10 delivery. Fitted at Kwik-Fit for £11 per corner.

Really pleased so far and they have good rim protection.

Which? magazine have always rated Vredestein tyres as a good buy and they've often come out tops in tyre tests.

Had two sets of F1 GSD3's on my last Mk 1 Leon, but tbh I found the Avon ZZ3 to be just as good as the F1 GSD3 for me.
