Plan is to run the Jetex straight off the MAF as they are the same size. Will try and do a fitting of the filter tomorrow to see if the battery leaves me enough space, fingers crossed!

Yeh fitter for the turbo and injectors is away all of this month, so early february i'll get everything fitted and then mapped very soon after, cant wait!

Gave the car a quick wash as she was sooooo dirty what with all the nasty slushy snow and grit all over the place.

Anyway enough of that.... wanted to do a quick trial fit of my new larger Jetex FR-08001 air filter to see if it would fit when the hybrid conversion goes ahead.

Here is my current filter setup.

As you can see its tight already, the filter slightly touches the battery, so i didnt hold much hope for the larger jetex fitting

Quick side by side of the smaller 70mm Jetex and the new 80mm Jetex that will replace the old one!

So i removed the silicon pipe that im using to take the 70mm Jetex closer to the wing and trial fitted the 80mm filter attached straight to the MAF. To my surprise it fits with plenty of clearance to spare!

Yeh just relieved that i dont have to relocate the battery. Yes im going to run the cold air feed still, will have more space aswell so i can get it closer to the filter.

Yeh hybrid first then can think about cleaning thr bay and maybe getting the inlet mani, rocker cover and charge pipe cleaned up. Got the forge coolant silicon hoses to fit aswell, that'll give the bay abit more colour aswell.

Nope nothing you said changed my mind at all:lol:

In an ideal work i'd like to relocate the battery, smaller washer bottle and remove a few other bits.

Benny's engine bay just before he sold it was the "holy grail" of engine bays imo so neat and tidy, loved it!

I'd get a silicone hose inbetween the filter and the hose to help straighten the air flow out before it hits the maf and giving inconsistent readings.

Thats fine mate, collection will be fine, i only just cleaned it last month so its still very clean. Essex is not that far from me so should work out fine. And as for a spin in the hybrid wagon, your seat is waiting!:D
