Just had a read thro this and it shocks me to see how many ov u guys have problems with this car!!!

Had mine for about 9 months now had a few odd bits n bobs ie. coilpacks, odd boost leak... But nothing BIG...

Had a mk4 escort rs turbo befor this car.... now thats a car you would feel like killing urself because it kept braking down on you... no matter how much i spent on it £1k for MOT ect. £6k on new parts and mods and thats not with the price ov car 3k!!

Came a time where it broke down on me AGEN!!! in the middle of the busyest round about in Aberdeen then i just lost it and got out the car then smashed in the drivers side door and window lol, ended up braking the car for just over 2k in the end, i only owned it for 6months so..... guys this car to me is the best turbo car i have owned by far :)

rab you got any big plans for this year wid the beast

Well as most do am still torn between going ko3s or hybrid, reson being am only gonna be keeping the cupra for a year or so till i can get a decent insurance quote for a evo 9.

Then agen hybrid would be good cause the birds getting the cupra when i buy the evo, so i could use that and keep the evo for the weekends ;)

Dave u getting a other Cupra??

Good for power between 200-280bhp IMO if your looking for more power then forge intercooler is the way to go bro.

give it time my friend give it time

Funny how people start to get negative about a car when they are getting rid of it.

Cupra's are grea little cars imo, mines given me fairly trouble free motoring in my 2years of ownership. They are exclusive compared to other brands and still maintain the VAG build quality in the most impportant areas, engine and drivetrain. Yes sensors and wiring can go amiss. Ive owned several fiats and some french rot boxes in my time, and trust me, id take a Seat over these every time!

:wtf:

How could you say an Mk3 is just as comfy as a BMW??????

I'm not sure what kind of beemer you had but I never used the word comfy in the same sentence as an Mk3....they rattle absolutely everywhere! Was comparing my ex 2002 Cupra to my 1992 Jetta and there is no difference! Come to think of it, even my '83 Golf isn't much worse than the mk3 comfort wise

just thought that was funny comment on your behalf

had a escort mk3 xr3i to blew that engine to:cartman:

back in the days used to like these. My friend used to have Escort RS Turbo with like 180bhp i loved it loads, and 11 years ago this was a really good hot hatch. Ok things have changed and we move on, but still like my old school stuff.
Not a great fan of ford, but i like the Cosworths and the RST's

If i was to change my car, within the next 12 months,it will be VAG still tho :D

It's a great car, amazing value for money (which although none of you lot bought yours new, was likely the reason someone did!) and stonking tune-ability.

6 years with mine and I love it every day.

I concur with the above. Cheaper than similar Audi and VW's, yes you get more rattles and you dont get the bagde, but who cars unless you are a badge snob! The tune-ability is what made me go for my cupra too! I'll have money for a year or two more atleast, aslong s it keeps me smiling which it does its staying, the moment it dont enjoy driving it is the day you know its time to get rid!
