I second the powder coat as gives a much tougher finish that will last for years and is far easier to keep clean. The re-furb will involve a sand blast back to bear metal and then a powder coat finsh so dos not matter how much worse the corrosion get's. Should be £50-£60 a wheel.

The front drivers side is the one in the picutures. Have noticed a very small amount on the rear drivers side but I'm not too worried as its very small...

What normally causes this? I do use Autoglym and Turtle alloy cleaner? Could this do it? Suspect if so that I've probably not rinsed the wheels thoroughly enough at times...

It is just small stone chips that water get's into and starts to react with the metal causing the paint to bubble. I have always just used normal car shampoo and wax on them stuff like poorboys or any wheel selant does help keep them clean but wont's prevent chips.

Just spoke to the dealers and apparently the alloys are only covered for one year and they won't fix it...:(

Is this something an alloy refurb company could probably fix? I've noticed that where the worst of it is that it is started to peel away and is down to the bare...

Dave, they're trying it on, if the problem is a fault with the wheel then it is covered by the full warranty, my wheel they replaced was over 32months old and had been slightly kerbed but the fault was not near the kerbing. Try another dealer remember they get paid for warranty work.

I had minor corrosion on my Mazda 3 on 3 wheels, Mazda replaced them all, and then again after they corroded, and then again when they corroded.

They then released a facelift model with different wheels, so i traded it in before its warranty ran out for my FR.
