Had a Quikshift Cone D filter. Big filter, think it was bigger than the Jetex one you guys are running. Like I said made a luvly noise and performance wise seemed good. Just didnt like what I saw and wanted an excuse to change it :D

Good customer service for ringing up though :)

I'm stuck with what to do with my old Neuspeed filter. I will blow it out at my dads garage on the weekend but after that...sell it I guess. Well unless the JETEX performs worse when I do the logs, then it'll be going back on and i'll have a chrome JETEX for sale :D

im looking into getting a filter before i go for my stage 1 map. i was looking into panel filter but reading this thead im thinking about getting one lf these jetex cones.

the only thing is im not a big fan of loud cars. I just wanted to know if these cone filters have a stupidly loud induction roar like a corsa's and clio you see racing about

well I fitted my jetex along with my forge 007(thanks to dave_ph. First class parts)last night and I think its fair to say no other modification have ever out such a big smile on my face. I don't think it has made my LCR particularly loud....just a very nice throaty noise to begin followed by the sound of a dyson sucking the tarmac off the road before the gear change releases a nice dump noise but no where near as loud as a blow off valve. I think it genuinely just makes it sound as powerful as it is and should have been factory standard. :p one thing I will say though is both mods compliment each other and I would recomend them both highly. Just cold air intake to sort next. Made some room but not convince I'm going to be able to wedge my 100mm pipe in without crushing it in places!

You won't get much induction roar at all because the filter bolts, essentially, to the turbo and not the throttle body like NA cars. You will however make the turbo spool louder and also get a loud sucking sound as the turbo draws in air from the filter under load, followed by a dump valve 'tshhh' that echoes from the filter. With a stage 1 remap, it will get quite loud so either leave your bonnet lining on or just upgrade the panel filter and install a better air feed.

It definately wont sound like you're in the corsa crew, as has been said, instead of letting noise back out of the engine, it just lets noise back out of the turbo / diverter valve, so you just hear a bit more wooshing everywhere - The bonnet lining really does go a long way to keeping this noise to a minimum though - having previously removed mine, I put it back on the other day and can barely hear anything now!

The audible differences aren't that big, you should go ahead with it!

oh yeah got an email reply from Jetex re doing the blue filter in the red, this is what they said:

"Unfortunately we only offer this size of filter in blue. We have never been asked for this before in red as it is expensive to produce new colours for just one sized filter."

Hence just ordered a Blue jetex filter from bill at badger5 along with forge dv & TIP :D

Sorry Mashburn i think you were wanting the filter in red aswell

Could someone link me to a cold air feed for the Jetex cone filter? I had a look on eBay but not sure which one I need.

Edit: Don't worry, ordered one now :)

I'm also planning on ordering a jabba heatshield; do you have to extend the cone with the joiner/coupler and then secure the cone to the wing (like I have seen people here do) for it to fit in the heatshield? I'm not sure I would be confident doing that myself! Is there anyone in the Southampton area that could fit it for me if I got all the parts? Beer in it for you :p
