Need some help..
I was going to leave my car at stage 1 but reading about the ITG intake, loving the sound it makes..
Would I be asking for trouble, for example fuel cuts etc as I’m running standard everything except the Stage 1, it currently runs fine.. and I’m not looking at doing/changing the fuel pump or any further mods..

Should be fine aslong as your boost setting is set at an acceptable level (no higher than 6). Once the uprated fuel pump is added you will be able to increase you boost and timing.

Thanks, Currently running boost 7, Timing 5, Air/Fuel 9, this may sound stupid but by decreasing the boost would it make the car much slower?

Decisions decisions. Been saving for a milltek downpipe, finally got the cash together and planing to get it in Jan, but now im thinkning of just going straight for the BDM or ITG CAI instead, cheaper, and after reading warrens post on the itg a while back, wondering if this is a better choice....or just go for the dp now and get the bdm or itg once a few more people have experience with them. Personally i think the bdm kit looks a lot better asthetically but, the itg seems to be the more popular choice

Decisions decisions. Been saving for a milltek downpipe,

Well hello: I have done mostly anything at my car and tried very different things. In order, what the best upgrades are :

1) Quaiffe Diff. ( power needs control ) - very expensive - but the best
2) Full Miltek ( including the downpipe )
3) remap (custom)
4) fuel pump
5) remap (custom)
6) intake

Off course, it would be wise to do Intake and Miltek at the same time. But back to your question, you will win a lot more with the Miltek. The intake is just a finishing touch.
With a standard intake and a Full Miltek you will have a very good increase in power. Best if the software is updated at the same time.
Just changing the intake and keep the rest normal won't give you that much. Okay, just my opinion. I would go for the Miltek - Full !!! ( Just by adding a Carbon Intake will give you another 5 bhp extra - been tested on my set-up )

Id get the full milltek tbe but dp would be fine. If your adding an intake imo you need the hpfp aswell because the standard units arent up to much and thats highlighted when doing either intake or pump on there own.

Asthetically the bdm may look better but their both exactly the same but the ITG has a heatshield whereas the bdm doesnt which is quite an important part.

I think most do remap then zorst so i would do that, i did.

I have contacted BackDraft M.S. and it is no problem for them to make a heatshield as well. The outside of the BackDraft looks better, but the flow is really on the inside. I was in doubt for both of them, but I am gonna stick to the Forge Twintaker. It will be out in short time. My car will have a remap after that, so I will report in the Twintake section.

SURGE ...............

Hello all the guy's with an ITG air intake.
I have installed the same kit ( BDM ) and I now suffer with SURGE.
Especially when coming OF the gas.

I use the Forge Diverter Valve. Used the Yellow spinal first. After that I switched to the Green spinal. Surge seems to be less. But still surge when coming of the gas.

HELP ????

I think that is normal, it is the filter making the noise!

How do you find the BDM kit? Any increase in power? Could you make a video of the filter? Although its nearly the same as the ITG, BDM use a BIGGER filter and i'd like to here what it sounds like

suprsied there is no heat shielding though, so the car will be getting lung fulls oh hot engine air.

can you define what you define what you mean by surge though.

Tonight I will place a link for all of you. It is definitly Surge and this is killing for a turbo !!!!!

The sound is awesome ..... The power had surely increased. Turbo spools up faster.
Dyno and remap are planned allready, so I will keep you updated. I will place the link, have to go to work now ..... Leonneke

They do offer to fit a heatshield for you but you have to go to thier workshop, apprantly though the intake temps stayed the same with or without the heatshield, but the RR showed with the heatshield it did gain a little more torque.

looking forward to the Vids Leonneke :)

nope,

the first one is an add on for the end of the standard intake on the TSI engine, whereas the ITG is only available in TFSI guise at teh moment.

also the filter isn the only reason the ITG makes good gains, its also to do with the sie of the piping, the flow charcteristics on the inside of the piping due to the internal lips of the pipes etc, as well as the sealed of filter area to stop the hot engine bay air entering the intake.
