Problems and questions

I recently bough myself a 57 plate Cupra TDI, but I have a few problems to fix (which I was aware of at the time).

1. The electric mirrors don't work - I've checked the fuse and its ok, is there anything else I can check before getting it booked in under warranty?

2. The cigarette lighter is stuck inside the socket - How do I remove all the plastic surround to be able to take the whole lighter unit out?

3. Somehow the glass in the drivers sun visor got smashed (god knows how) - Where can I find replacement glass and is it easy to fit?

I think that's it, thanks in advance.

The electric mirrors have just failed on my Cupra TDI so if you find a solution let me know. I've checked all my fuses and taken the door card off and nothing seems wrong. The only thing I can think of is that the door control module has died but the electric windows and locks work so I'm not sure. I'm living with it for the time being

If you can take the mirror out of the visor then take it to a glass/window shop and they can cut some mirror to that shape for a couple of quid

Thanks.

I can quite happily live with the mirrors as they are in the position I need them in, but I suppose I ought to get them fixed while I can.

If it's still under warranty I'd get Seat to sort it to be honest. My car is out of warranty hence the reason for living with it. Also, vagcom didn't show any issues when I scanned it

Yeah I will get them to sort it, bu I was just checking the obvious things first. if it was as simple as a fuse I would just sort it myself.

Can anyone else help me on point 2?

My cigarette lighter was stuck inside the socket, i used some swan-necks (if not try mole-grips) to carefully pull the lighter out, theres not alot to get hold of but mine came out easy enough. the socket still works and as im a non smoker losing the lighter wasn't a big deal. hope that helps

Thanks will give it a go. I wouldn't use it as a lighter either so I just want the damn thing out for my ipod and such!
