I've lowered my V5 by 30mm and had no extra problems with clearance. As with ARB's etc, 30mm is ok without any mod's to it.

I've lowered the suspension by 30mm using Spax springs and krypto gas struts and also changed over to Powerflex bushes throughout. I've done about 15k miles on this set-up and all's running well.

Lower then around 45mm and you'll need a uprated front ARB. Something like the Whiteline one is a good choice as it goes under the drive shaft so gives a lot more clearance.

You'd be fine with a 30mm drop.

When I did mine, The shocks and springs (all from Spax) came to about £300 with delivery. I also changed the top mounts as they are only about £5 - £10 each and whilst you have the struts out, you may as well do them.
