Yeah, that's what I've got. One is cracked, so a wrap would cover that nicely. I was thinking of replacing them with the teardrop mirrors but I'd be happy with those covers! You know how I like your CF work :D

D.K. I really like the carbon mods to date. After seeing Robdon’s attempts a few months back, I decided to have ago myself. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering the fabric-backed rather than sticky-backed vinyl. Applications to the strut covers and inlet manifold cover did not last with using a spray adhesive, so opted to paint them instead. However, my fuse box cover has lasted really well. I found that a couple of coats of lacquer have not caused any issues and that IMO; a glossed look is better than a matt look.

Do you imagine lining a roof will withstand the weather’s seasons? Would you choose to lacquer it or just protect it with a few coats of wax? If this could be done, I think it would look very very nice and understated!

I look forward to seeing your FMIC fitted (what a bargain!) by you ;)

James.

The vinly stuff that I'm useing at the moment is ment for exterior use, it has a slight satin finnish to it so it's ideal for any Exterior part's.
The vinly's and fabric backed stuff will have troble sticking to any textured surface as you will get small air bubbles under the surface which will get bigger till it peel's off.
I have used Dodo Juice Red mist on the vinly which gives it a bit more of a shine.

I'd leave it silver if I were you fella! Nothing looks better than a clearly visible FMIC! And you've spent a lot of effort cleaning it up, why hide it by painting it black?

It would only be the viens the I'd paint  and leave the ends polished [B)]

Yeh but you know what'll happen, it'll get stone chipped and then silver bits will shine through the black.

There's a lad down this way sprayed his FMIC and intercooler pipework black, it looked "ok" when he'd done it, now it's chipped and it doesn't look so good.....at all.
