Picked up a very clean 22k mile 2005 (55) plate Leon Cupra R a couple of weeks back. For as clean as it was it still wasnt up to my standards.
First up, the grubby looking brembos.
like most Brembo's the lacquer has lifted from the base colour.
First thing was to remove the calipers, degrease and remove the old lacquer. I used paintstripper and a jetwash to remove the lacquer, worked a treat.
Next I degreased, dried and keyed the original paint using Grey and Red ScotchBrite.
Next I masked up the holes and pistons
A few coats of zinc primer. leave to dry then flatten with 800w/d
First coat of base colour.
Once dried fully I applied the replacement stickers
