If you plan to run ipod you'll need both aux and usb, unless you can rig a splitter up or something.

unless you wire up the OE aux plug to the dension aux plug. think thats the way i'd go?

Ah, good thinking batman !. But will the OE aux plug terminate into a 3.5mm jackplug to fit into the Dension 300 Aux in ?? (if ya kinda know what i mean !)

Andy

Im currently running my ipod through the aux lead, tbh the lack of functionality is getting me down so the sooner I get a system in there the better.

PANIC OVER ! :)

For some reason, if you leave the unit a few minutes it comes back on. Wonder why it asks for the code when you re-connect it back up, then automatically puts the cos back in for you (or bypasses it) 2 mins later ! - oh well it's back in and working now.

Andy

A couple of further problems/questions in the photo below (excuse the quality of pics from my phone !)

The guy at Autosounds is going to have to ring Dension as he's not sure if its compatible with the Blaupunkt OEM radio which is in the car (ps i didnt realise it was made by Blaupunkt till i took it out of the facia !)

Excuse the larger size pic, i'm not sure how to make it smaller for this forum :(

Hi, yeah i've had the whole cluster out, what i meant was that the black smaller block (with the wires running into it) cannot be prized out, it seems to be welded to the larger block housing ???

if you look at the bottom of the quad lock there will be a tab to push/pull to release the lock it will then hinge up and away from the bottom of the stereo unit.

Hi there, i think we're talking about different things here. I mean the little small black plug (about 1cm by 2.5cm) is attached (stuck) to the main larger block (the block which is about 4cm by 4cm). There is no tab or lever on the smaller plug to pull it out. The only way is to tug on the wires, but i can see that there is no gap there like the other plugs, it seems welded !

Its called quad lock, there's no need to get that out of the big block.

So does the whole of the larger block need to stay out when the Dension 300 is plugged in. Not sure how it works to be honest.

Does the Dension 300 plug into the back of the radio, then the original looms (with connectors on) plug into the Dension 300 ?

Andy

The connector is the same as anything fitted to any current VAG vehicle. The quadlock is pretty much a universal fit these days, the power, earth and s contact feeds are all in the centre bit which cant be removed but the pins can be with the correct tool.

Lets have a look at the plug on the end of the Denison please. Also you stereo will come back on when ypu turn the ignition on. If you dont have the code (which they dont all come with them) the dealer has to plug it in and get it online from SEAT.
