Hey guys, I've finally got sick enough of the water smudge I get when it's raining, wipers go up and clear the window fine but when the one in front of the drivers seat comes back down, it smudges the water and makes it really hard to see.

I have a 52 1.2 S and as far as I know I can't have the aero wipers without the retrofit kit? I really don't know much about it so would like as much info on this, how hard it is to do, price etc.

One thing that I have noticed is I think the passenger side wiper arm is third party as there is a small piece of metal going through it that has gone rusty and isn't on the other one. Not sure if I can replace this wiper arm easily and cheaply?

Totally confused about which wipers to get and have search the forum but don't understand the replies!

These were the retro fit I was looking at but not sure if these fit mine:
http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/AR533S-Bosch-Aerotwin-Retro-fit-Twin-Pack-21-19-530-475mm-19.html

These apparently fit but these are retrofit aero:
Front:
http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/bosch-...=546&Year=2002&Position=5&ID=39&Ref=prod-info
Rear (Not aero or retrofit):
http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/bosch-...k=546&Year=2002&Position=3&ID=5&Ref=prod-info

EDIT: Just remembered my rear wiper works great but makes an horrendous noise unless the window is absolutely soaked, doesn't seem smooth at all and on the initial wipe seems to jump a bit and not clean it very well, coming down it's fine.

Well the product from autobulbsdirect is the exact same product as the wiperblades website. They will both fit thats what I have on the cupra and they work great. Look good too.

Whilst where going onto rear wipers ;) How easy is it to change the rear one to a facelift/polo wiper?

It wont involve taking the boot trim off or anything will it? Im not mechanically minded at all. Will take me a few days to change the front ones :D

I'm wondering the same.

The wipers are dead easy to change though, you just pulled them up off the windscreen and angle them and then give them a pull. To put the new ones on, you will see there is an arm you pull up, this clamps over the bend in the wiper, it's difficult to explain how it goes on but I can give you a picture if need be.

For the rear arm - There's a plastic "cover" which you just clip off - you'll then need to undo a 14mm nut iirc and just give the whole thing a tug. You then line up the new Polo arm and give it a chap onto the splines and tighten the nut. The plastice cover they give you for the polo arm might need trimmed though or it will rub on the window.

Sounds easy enough, will give it a go.

Front wipers came today just put them on. Also put in some Philips xtreme bulbs

think I may have to get some soon rather than later the noise one of mine is making is really irritating even after I cleaned it! They have been on there 9 months and I do very very low mileage is this normal?!

mine don't make noise but after just a few months they started leaving strings as they wiped...think it was due to the grit they stuck on the roads this time last year which possibly stickes to the screen and cuts the bottom of the blades

I bought the WiperBlades own brand front blades for my 2007 FR and am pretty impressed, at half what Halfrauds wanted for their generic blades they are have been doing a good job for the last 2 months. Can't complain as yet although assume they wont last as long as the Bosch's.
