Use the correct grade to top it up with. your going to have to assume that its got the right stuff in already, or get it changed ASAP for peace of mind. Get some 506.01
Just for interest sake, Ibiza Cupra TDi MK4, I use only 5w30 507 spec,
Incorrect oil can affect performance and even damage a TDi motor

Thx, I 'v been looking on Ebay and the price difference with the local shops is insane. It's almost 60% cheaper online, including shipping.
How much oil do I need for 1 change? Is a 5 liter can enough?
VW504/507 is one oil spec, covering both petrol & diesel.
Check my previous post for an online supplier of oil (Opie Oils). They're in Redruth.
in a dilemma here...if i'm going to do stage 1 remap on my Ibiza FR TDi (std 130PS) should i use 506.01 rather than the recommended 505.01? would this also be the case for a stage 1 Leon FR+ TDi (std 150PS)?
i'm assuming this as Cupra TDi owners have mentioned they are to use 506.01/507 oils

Is that the PD engine?
but some prefer an oil with a bit more viscosity, even if it doesn't carry any VW or API approvals.
VW504/507 5w 30 all the way mate.
