I'm going to have a crack at making a flywheel shield today out of alloy sheet - since issam has STILL not come up with a part number I have no choice if I want to get on with things.

"I will get it for you today."

"I didnt get the part # today but I will get it for you in the morning for sure chief."

Still waiting ... thanks.

Yeah I will.

Never got the plate done today, but the tool I needed to torque up the ARP head nuts arrived - so I have got the cylinder head back on and torqued up, the JBS manifold is on now too. Starting to look like an engine again. Tomorrow I will continue with the sump and plate, then onto the timing belt.

Rob No excuses other than I am trying my best....Writing on a forum about my poor communication does not help the situation mate.
Eventually PM'ing me will stop and everything will move to email but other than that I can only do so many things in a day.

Still waiting on the Kevlar timing belt, if it doesn't arrive by the time I'm ready to do the belt then it won't get fitted, I'll just fit the new OE one in the kit.
Express shipped it to you .Check your email, I will discuss the plate with you.

No worries, my apologies, I just got impatient and frustrated!

I made a plate today, took my angle grinder to one edge of the pan to get it past the A/C, then fitted it. My plate fits perfect, I made a paper template, drew it onto the alloy sheet then cut it out.

Return line and heat shield are back on now too, but was too dark for pics, more tomorrow.

Not sure really, fitted the timing belt today, lined up the marks I made before, all seemed fine. But no matter how many times I cranked the engine by hand the marks never lined up again? Both the cam and crank seemed to be at TDC and the marks lined up fine?

Then I find that I had to take some stuff back off again because I couldn't get the engine mount back in.

Then I found that the INA sump has pushed the dipstick out and it won't go back it - so the sump will have to come off again. So today felt like one step forward and two steps backwards.

Timing belts on these can be a nighmare, took me a while to get the nack of it, must have done it on old engine 15 - 20 times, so quite a dab hand at it now lol, only think i hate is winding the tensioner back, its in such an auqward place if ya hand is bigger than a baby's.

Anyway jus take your time mate, i rushed and it went kaput :( The engine mount is also an arse, il be doiing the timing belt on new engine out the car so hopefully in my ownership wont have to touch it again.

Yes, one of the worst designs I've ever seen on an engine, the engine mount sitting inbetween the timing belt is just plain stupid! :thumbd: Tomorrow I should have the timing belt finished though.

The INA oil pan is also a source of much annoyance - first I had to trim one edge to get it to fit, then I had to modify the oil return line to get that to fit, NOW the dipstick won't go in, so I'll have to take it back off again to modify it to get that to fit - what a PITA! [:@]

At least the BDM sump went straight on with no hassles at all.
