intermittent temp light

hi guys,

started the car up this morning and the warning light came on so i switched the car off and i checked the water level and it was above min and below max so started the car again and it didnt come back on. later in the day it did exactly the same. is this a faulty sensor or something else causing this

the water in the bottle seems fine and doesnt appear to have any crap floating around. just strange that it did this.

i just drove 125 miles from yorkshire on the m1 pretty much in traffic most of the way and it took me 3.5 hrs and the temp was fine all the way
