would some one describe a typical start you should be looking for from a high power high torque front wheel drive car. to be honest im pretty much a dunce.

Where in essex you from? Near AMD perhaps?

Is your K1 white?

TBH mate a remapped cupra isnt much quicker at all than a std one from standing starts.

Type R's can get off the line just as quick as a remapped cupra in average conditons. Its thrid gear and after where a tuned cupra shines.

I try not to be suckered into playing with 4wd and rwd cars off the line as it will only end in tears, especially when you know your car is quicker lol.

You must be close to having spent as much modifying your car as you did buying it lad . How many remaps, suspension set ups, wheels and other stuff have you had?!

With regard to times, to be fair, you are also getting more experienced on the 1/4 mile ;). I remember Ben with only a remap, TBE (with 2.75" downpipe), 18" Pro Race 1.2's and a panel filter, pretty well matching your 1/4 mile stats. Therefore, is all that stuff really that necessary?

I have spent a fair amount.;)

Ben's car seems to be a very strong car. He is only 0.02 of a second behind me on the quarter with the mods you mentioned (plus REVO DSG remap;) )

All other cars with DSG or manual at stage 2+ have yet to get under 13.5 except for mine and Jonnyc's stripped out ED30 with all the trimmings (12.6). Most manuals struggle to get under 14 seconds.

All that is in a straight line. With the extra mods mine has a much better balance on the twisties.

im from canvey island, yea my k1 is white a "58" plate. black alloy wheels.****** I cant believe the sheer force in 2nd gear. I have not opened it up enough yet to feel the power of 4th gear, plus the speeds they would be at... I like my license.

As many found out at the Ring last weekend I hear John...

To be fair to John, he has run same time and terminal as me, but he ran it at York dragway for that time, mine @ Pod. So hard to compare really as on different tracks. John does have a **** load more mods than me (mainly being, HPFP, EVOMS, Stage 2+, Twintercooler and most recently the new addition of 17" TD's wrapped in 888's + a few other bits) to help him along the 1/4 mile. But when I drove it at Brunters it did feel very strong and that was before the Stage 2+ map had time to settle in.
I for one am anxious to see what time it can run at Pod and would be amazed if it wasn't capable of 12's. Would love to have another go in it myself too ;) Would try not to double upshift in it this time though :headhurt: :D
As for manual Ed30's. There has been one or two get into the 13's at Crail that I have heard of. But if a well driven Stage 2+ Ed30 wasn't capable of a 13.5 run at some point i'd be very suprised to be honest.

There are 3 Cupras I am aware of in this spec that have done it in around that time.

BLADE's SEXY K1 an fast as ****

hi guys an girls had a go in blades m2 k1 which has a few tastefull mods an oh my god, how different it feels to the lcr i have, its got so much torque an power an the turbo keeps pulling an pulling, but where i struggle with traction in mine this just grips an holds to the road. i'm really impressed with the mk2 an blades car is the best example of a k1 i have seen.... made me smile but the drive home in my car with 270ish bhp felt dull..... hybrid soon for me but going to be nothing compared to the k1.... hope to see more k1s like this. keep up the good work ryan

Glad you liked my K1 Murph. Been thinking about getting W.A.L.K kit but to be honest i seem to get enough traction as is, which is amusing considering the power that's going through the wheels.

Traction is my biggest issue!

I agree, once tuned your always going to have problems. You have to pick and choose your moments to use the car properly. Comparing to my mk1 LCR, the mk2 is much better, and now i,m on eibachs things have got a little better again. W.A.L.K will no doubt get fitted eventually as i not finished tinkering just yet. :D

Agree the Mk2 grips/handles alot better than the LCR. Quaife diff next for me.

Blade what mods have you done to get your car gripping with all the power you have?

My mate has a mapped ed30 DSG running around 310bhp and cant get it to grip in second.... just starts spinning or traccy control interupts....third is ok though...

dont treat the accelerator as a on off switch

seat service says AMD remap has left the car over fueling. always problems!!
