That's not what i was thinking when i was all over the arse of one a month or two back down a very good B road, just before i overtook it.
Also worth noting im not a great driver and i have a standard car, in my opinion the S3 only has the advantage an a rainy day...which granted is most of the time!

well looks wise id say the LCR looks much better, the 2002 S3 looks much more outdated compared to the 2002 LCR (my choice was between the two cars really), performance wise, around the track, and from launches the S3 is probably better thanks to the 4WD, but motorway runs, and just for some fun, im happy with my choice
Yeah, I tried it on the way home tonight just on the mapping mode, looks like it could be quite fun. The GPS seems pretty accurate (using the built in one on my N78, no idea on chipset/sample rate) but got confused when I stopped at the work barrier. Just had me down as spinning on the spot
I would have thought that it would start the 0-60 timer when it actually detects movement, bit of an oversight if not. Unless it's purely designed to be run with a "co-pilor" to hold the device and start the timer as you start...
the reason its not too good while your standing still is because it picks up vibrations or something like that from the satelite. not too sure how it is,someone explained it to me.made sense when he explained it lol
Is yours mapped? I've driven my mates old S3 and to be honest it wasn't that quick....I think they must loose a lot of power to the 4wd system?

No mines standard. Hey im not slating the LCR at all, tbh it was a toss up between that or the s3, im just saying that whats on paper and what its like in real world are quite different.
For you to have kept up with him id say he was a crap driver. The s3 should leave you on the handling side but on the straights id say you guys would have it.

The new S3 is alot better than our S3 and LCR. Straight line speed, they are rapid so I would say if a standard LCR overtook a new S3 he wasnt bothered or trying.
It all down to personal opinion and what you want from a car. S3 and LCR I dont think there is very little difference in straight line perfromance althought standing starts a S3 would leave you easy. Handling wise I think with both cars you got to know how to drive them otherwise both aint that good.

Some of the manouvers and speeds he was going i'd say he was definatly trying...so probably a **** driver then,
I'm not slating the S3 either, i like them! But this side of 300bhp in the dry i don't see the need to pay so much more for such a similar car.

GPS is accurate to anywhere from about 3 - 15 meters, depending on time of day, location of the receiver in the car and the location you are doing the test etc....
Obviously the conditions for the 15m accuracy would be pretty bad.
