hello all, i have recently bought an 05 lcr and before ive even had the chance to introduce myself ive got a problem with her. two days ago i noticed that when i accelerate upto about 3.5k and then ease off the throttle i can hear a noise coming from the engine bay on the passenger side, somewhere near the glovebox area. its hard to describe but its like a 'woosh' or 'shh' noise. the noise only last 1 second and i havent noticed a loss of power or any other problems. i am not the most mechanical minded person so any help is welcomed. cheers

it didnt do it when i bought the car though, ive had it a couple of weeks but the noise has only been happening a couple of days. its not a particularly loud noise either. i can only hear it with the radio off and the windows shut.

once your engine is warmed up its easier to notice, i bought mine standard and i could hear it sometimes, not all the time either.

nothing to worry about :)

if you really want one that is louder simply buy a forge spliter valve that will make a noise but if you want it more stealth like ger a forge 007p excellent valve:D

Mine used to *sigh* :D when it was standard...it's perfectly normal. If you don't like it, buy an NA car :p

thats what ive got its a sigh sound, the thing that worried me is that it didnt do it for the first couple of weeks of owning it, only the last couple of days. plus it idles at about 1200 on startup, but idled lower for the first couple of weeks on startup it still idles normal when its warm though. so you all think its normal? maybe i just ddnt notice it for the first few weeks. they may seem stupid questions to you lot, but its my first turbo car so its all new to me. thanks for the help

No worries, we all start somewhere. The idling is also normal, don't forget that the temps are getting lower now it's Autumn so the auto-choke will be on and so will the secondary air pump (which warms up the catalytic converter) for the 1st couple of minutes on start-up. My guess is that you didn't notice the dumping noise, it's really quite quiet and I didn't pay much attention to it either when I 1st got mine.
