Depends how good you are at launching the car from a standing start.

At santa pod, I reckon you could get a 6 flat, on normal roads, 6.5+

(I was always poo at launching the car... best I got at santa pod was 14.5 quarter mile)

Even though his car is stripped out and it will help a little, the same 0-60 time could have been done in a car with say only the rear seats and spare removed.

Despite having much more stripped out than my car, and not much less power, his power to weight ratio isnt as good as mine, going by terminal speeds.
His terminal speed is usually around the 99mph mark. Mine is more like 101mph.

Doesnt sound like much? You'd be supprised.

So technically my car, once I nail the second gear launch, should be just as quick, if not quicker, with very little of the interior removed.

May I also add, that that is his car in road going form, unlike most who remove most stuff for 1/4 racing. Tyres used were Toyo T1R's and the time was run at Bruntingthorpe.

If yours is doing 2 mph more on the trap speed, doesn't necessarily mean that it will be just as quick 0-60 mate. As that much stripping done to a car has got to give it a good 70-80kgs less weight, which will defo help on a 0-60 dash. Yours having more power obviously starts to pull it back after at a guess.
Like you say though with your extra power, you may match the time i'm sure, but I doubt T-Spark's would manage that time withjust the rears and spare out..

i dont see how 80kgs could be taken off the weight of a car just with the door cards and the plastic dash mate, i had to take mine out of the mk2 earlier this year and probs weighted in more like 10-15kgs and thats probs being a wimp after ripping it all out!

right tho with 60's times come down to weight more so than power with like none super car style power and that, that guys car must weight less than standard obv, but id cry foul that 60 time isnt right or sumet, no way a 5.0 dead sorry

Mines 240 and approx 380/90lbft and with a full interior, spare etc the best mines managed was a 6.1 0-60 (tho i could do with trying a few 2nd gear starts

so im sorry but i doubt a cupra would be quicker than 6.5

as said above its all about the in gear acceleration :D

There's a little more than just a couple of door cards and a bit of plastic mate..
Rear seats
All the Carpets
Sound proffing
dash
door cards
centre console
stereo
glove box

and god knows what else I have missed. I rememeber weighing the back seats of my LCR when I took them out and they were over 20kgs all together..
Ok it might not be as much as 80 kgs, but I bet it isn't to far off and will be a lot more than 15-20kgs. Plus even if it were 60-70kgs, on a car that weighs 1100-1200kgs, it will make a noticable difference, trust me.. Equivlent to an extra 10-15bhp on that car..
