Been a while since I last updated.

Three days before GTI inters this year, the metal elbow on my pipercross filter decided to crack.

Had to run standard engine cover/air box with green cotton filter. Easily lost 5-10bhp, and struggled on the strip. Couldn't break 17 seconds - ran 16.8 @ pod BEFORE remap... truely gutted.

Whilst at the show however, stubbled across Forge's TwinFilter system available for the 2.0TFSI engines. Ordered a single enclosed filter from them with a reducing elbow and cold feed. Cold feed isn't yet properly sorted, so no installed pictures, but here's one of the kit;

Since then I've experimented with a Raceland Polo 1.4 16v 4-2-1 manifold. Despite the engine code being the same, the mountings on the block are different fouling one of the pipes.

Cheers mate :) I want to put some vinyl on the back somewhere, not sure where though. Thought about the lip in the boot spoiler were the 3rd brake light is, though about on top of the boot spoiler, around the boot 's', reflectors... but really not sure!

Few other bits to sort :p

In November, I had a blow-out on the front left on a country lane - no excitement, was going round a tight left-hander. Found a set of wheels and tyres going cheaper than 2 new T1R's (front right needed changing too) so gave me an excuse to get the FR's off over the winter.

A set of 14" 'Chrome Pack' Alloys and tyres. After a clean;

Not at all the colour I was hoping for... looks brown!

After the Raceland manifold didn't bloody fit, I was back to square 1 with what to do. I was looking on the 'bay for any other polo manifolds going, and stumble on a standard polo gti manfold going cheap! After a bit of poking around vagcat, worked out that it was a direct fit for my car. As a reminder, my current exhaust manifold has a cat on it, this polo gti manifold doesn't! The only problem I faced was that original manifold had a pre-cat lambda boss... and the polo gti one didn't. Whipped my flexi/front section off and took down to a local welder for a boss to be welded in. Got back and fitted it in the rain and dark :( tried as best i could to seal it all but think there's a little leak between front and centre sections.

Results... well, from cold the exhaust rasps. Horribly in fact. Once warm though, it sounds much gruntier, a bit louder, and despite a piss-pot 1.4, pops and bangs on over-run. Mpg has reduced slightly, but to be frank.. I could give a f*ck! :lol:

Over the winter, the car has been neglected some what. Only made it out to wash her 3 times! It was disgusting! Cleaned last weekend for the Chesterfield meet, but hasn't lasted long!

Downloaded GIMP a few weeks ago, and have been having a play with how I'd like the wheels to look before show season...

Likey? No Likey?!

In other news, I bought an Ibiza Mk3 Cupra at the beginning of the year for racing this year. Eventually there will be a thread.

No mate, K&N filter didn't stay on long. Replaced it with a green panel filter, then a Pipercross open filter, finally followed by a Forge carbon filter. Post #161 mate!
