You accidently knock off a wiring plug when trying to see if i could fit cruise control, then the car won't start cause the plug you knocked off is one of the immoblizers and it just doesnt let then engine run. Then spend ages trying to find my SKC which i couldnt then just check all the plugs on the fused board and hey presto one is loose click it in and all ok again. I was almost at the point of buying vag-tacho.

you know you have a mk2 ibiza when... you take it in to get a new clutch put in and the part that the release bearing is fixed to is snapped in 3 pieces so you have to go to the stealers again for this small daft bracket...

and

at the same time you get a new pedal box in and the part that you get for the brake pedal is the wrong one so you have to go back and order a new one in, now its delayed the work in the garage for another 2 days...I WANT MY IBIZA BACK! :(

When stationary you need to put your foot on the clutch rev to about 3000RPM. Let your foot off the clutch and put it back down again JUST TO SELECT REVERSE GEAR!!!!

Youve been grafting in the house all day, finally get done for the day, go to get in car to go to a meet and realise you got a flat! (I know it could happen to any car, but it just about tops the day)..

So , Mr San Miguel is keeping me company this evening now instead

What part is it thats wrong?

it was the plastic clip that has a ball bearing in it that sits in the back of the brake pedal

my old one snapped getting it out and i got the wrong one off the dealers, then when i got the right one i got the SEAT garage to put it in for me :p lol

all sorted now tho, new pedal box and clutch and the gear changes are so smooth :) need to get used to the new bite on the clutch tho! lol

you know you have a mk2 ibiza gti when you get a really bad knocking and the garage tell you it needs a new wheel hub and as you get back in the car and shut the door the drivers window falls into the door!!!!

is the 8v more reliable than the 16v or do they all have the same problems???

8v is more reliable mechanical wise than a 16v in my experience.

However glass falling into doors happens on them all.

I must be really lucky because my arches dont have any rust. The only rust I have is on the lip of the wing where it finishes in the arch.

mines completely rust free ! shock horror :p but covered in battle scars

you know you have a mk2 ibiza when you come to remove the engine (1.4) and realise its the easiest fwd engine that you have ever removed then laugh at your mate whos got a clio and has to drop his subframe :D
