Ive got 17's but i was told i could get 18's and that tyres would be cheaper for 18's because they are now more common...

i don't know who told you this but i doubt it is true...even if they were more common companies wouldn't drop the prices to below that of an inferior size of the same model

personally i wouldn't move to 18s as the ride would be harsher than already is, mpg will be affected along with speedometer also...and tyres will rub under full lock

Hi I have 18" wheels on my Ibiza FR.

another 5dr FR owner :funk:

not sure about the 18's...they look odd, however, they do fill the wheel arches lol i don't know how your tyres don't rub going over bumps or even turning into a bend mate as clearance is hardly existent, and you must get loads of road noise from the lower profile tyres

Is 205/40/17 low profile?
If so I'm running low profiles and sounds exactly the same.

yer...i just got my T1R 215/40 17's for £87 per tyre all in!

215/40 17 is still low profile, however, because 40% of 215 is obviously more than 205 the ride is no longer crashy goin over humps, road noise is practically non-existent and smoother

i wouldn't have thought such a small difference would have a big impact...but i have lived the change

yer, i could have bought em off camskill but, as you said, wouldn't include fitting and balancing

Whats the standard size for Cupra Tyres?

as said above, 205/40 17 is the standard size

yes and the 205's (standard tyres) are crashy...i would recommend moving to 215/40 17's as i mentioned a few posts back
