Head unit question

Hi all

Having just got my cordoba last week I realise that my sony xplod is not going in! Therefore please can someone answer the following questions for me

1 Which head unit will I have in a 2000, I see gamma, aura etc floating about but I don't know which mine is

2 Will it already have the cd changer lead in it if so where, guessing left hand side in boot but not quite sure where

3 Will all VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda six disk changers fit or only specific ones?

dont think the orgnal disc changer would fit a sony one. you can get plates so a 1din head unit will fit. ask halfords.

Sorry think I have confused (probably why no one answered before) I have the HU with the integral heater panel so can't take out and not putting sony in.

I think all the VAG changers will work, the SEAT ones are definitely all the same. THe Cable may be in there for a changer, but if you need to buy one they're not that expensive.

Not all VAG changers will, the changers are grundig however if you have a 2000 MK3 (integral headunit) car then check what end connector is on the cable in the boot, its left hand side over the wheel arch on ours. MK3 was a square connector and MK2 was a round one. I have both a MK3 and a MK2 and they are different.

Also the grundig changers came in Fiats as well so you should be able to find a couple on ebay, and i know of people who have also connected sony ones up with cable adapters.

OK I'll re-phrase. All VAG changers of the same age will work.

Thanks all. Will have one more pull of the carpet over the weekend but looking like there is no cable. So then it will be take the HU out to make sure there is nothing connected and that end and then sounds like it will be off for an ebay spend!
