clutch is good to 300lbs...but seen people with more and still been fine, its more about how you drive it!

im pretty gentle with mine and wait till im up in the rev range before pushing it..usually about 2500-3000
Clutch slip comes from 2 things. One is that the engine generates torque levels which simply over whelming the clutch leading to sustained slipping say full throttle up hill, this is usually at a much higher level than the maximum torque level. The torque limit is usually set at a level that when you floor the throttle & a turbo, or super-charger, goes on-boost instantly the sudden 'impact' of the torque spike can be held. With that type of spike it can easily rip the two friction surfaces apart, this is seen by a momentary slip when you suddenly floor the throttle & usually happens at higher rpm when the turbo is producing elevated pressure on a cruising throttle & the throttle is suddenly floored.

If you suddenly floored it quite high up the rpm like that you may be putting more stress on the clutch than giving it some beans at peek torque when the turbo is still a little lethargic when spooling up.

Not sure where you are but for the North try RS Tuning in Leeds or Awesome GTi in Manchester.

Edit, for the people that have had maps from P Torque, have you had it rolling roaded anywhere else?

I was at R- Tech perforamnce last week and there was a Cupra 150PD with a P-Torque remap there having a rear ARB fitted, before my project car went on there dyno the Cupra was ran up and made around 180bhp 300lbft. A good result but 30lbft less than a past run on a Dimsport inertia only rolling road.

I've recently had an Oscarli map - done by Richard Washbrook himself !

Very pleased with it so far - nice and smooth but noticeably quicker

Should be somewhere around 170bhp and 280 lb's of torque but not had it on a RR (for what its worth as they all read differently)

i've got an upsolute map with peak torque tweaked back to make power delivery more useable. I don't like clutch shudder and wanted it to be smoother as the GF uses it most days. She's quite heavy footed and i didn't fancy having to put a clutch in it as a consequence.

She complains now that in wet it's an animal.

She doesn't like driving the beemer in wet. Doesn't trust it.

Hi

Here a dyno run carried out on a 130PD with P-Torque remap from another dyno...

If you search you find loads from dyno days at various companies

How do you guys rate Dimsports maps? I can get a custom rolling road tune with full diagnostics for £365 with before and after power runs.
