LCR tyre upgrade...the grippiest and best?

At the moment on my LCR i've got goodyear excellence on the front and p zero neros on the rear and it will spin the wheels in 2nd in the dry, which i don't think is very good. on my c class i have uniroyal rainsport 2 which i really like and rate them as good as the conti 3's that were on it before hand and on my st i have verderstien's which i also really like and rate very highly

Yokohama Prada Spec 2, they are a soft compound but i know people that have got 3years out of a set (running 300bhp) they are about as close to slicks as the law allows. look them up.

I have these on the LCR at the moment. They are rubbish, wet and dry. Dont get them. I have also had the F1 assymetrics, these are soooo much better.

Can't disagree more, they are a handfull in the wet i will give you that but came from goodyear asymetrics and the parada's are far better in the dry. Although this is just my opinion based on a fast road scenario.

Hi, on my lcr I run Bridgestone Potenzas, they are the only differant tyre Ihave tried though are a vast improvement over the P zero's, my traction improved loads whilst acceleratin hard, not cheap at £600 for 4, though i'll prob stick with these.

I have just gone from a very budget tires that were on the car when I purchased it to toyo proxy T1R's. These are a summer tire but are really good in the wet too. Very grippy and seem to have a good wear rate too, I got two tires for just over the £200 mark. These tires replaced the T1S's. I really rate them, and handling of the car has been transformed, the nankangs that were one before weren't up to much!

The next tyre up from these from toyo are the 888s. The T1Rs are alittle more practically than the 888s with regards to our whether we get, even if it is the summer here!
I've just fitted R888's to the front end of my LCR. I have only driven 10 miles so far but compared to the GYE F1 Asymmetrics I had before there is zero tyre wall flex and feel awesome

Even though My leon is only a 1.4 I run 17's on it I have been using goodyear excellence rotationals on the front and f1 assymetrics on the back before I put the f1s on I was running dunlop sp sport run flats and against eveyone saying dont use runflats that gripped a hell off alot more than the F1's do I keep finding the back slipping out with the f1's on im considering going for the excellences all round to see what its like.
Sorry but utter pish, I've just done 50 laps on Knockhill with F1's. The fronts were down to the wear bars and were AWESOME. These stick like a dead rabbit to the road. If my cars wasn't just a track/fast road car I would be buying these again.

Interesting. Have heard alot of very mixed reports of these, some love em some hate them. If these are fully up to temperature with the correct tyre pressures they should be very good.

Dolby, as above, I've just fitted R888's to the front of the car and they feel AWESOME, further testing to be continued today:)

Well, put it this way, I bought mine new from eBay, but not from a shop... - and if someone told me I had fake parada spec-2 tyres on my car I would believe them 100%.
They are no track day tyre that is for sure. They come with loads of tread new and look just like a normal tyre - except for the obvious tread pattern differences.

Would be interested to know how you get on with the R888s Willie. I know a lot of the porsche track day people run these with good results. I would have liked them but with the weather we get here in the UK the F1s are going to be quicker in anything but bone dry conditions I would think...

I find this statement a bit strange, why mention the look of the thread before anything else on a performance tyre. Is this a review from a user or a statement from the supplier?

dunno, don't care. I drive them and they are great!

Wow, you guys are brave fitting 888's to a high powered FWD road car in a country where you get 190 damp/wet days minimum a year!! In standing water I fear they will be dire, so keep motorway speeds lowish when its pi$$ing it down (sub 60mph).

Be very interested to see how they fair, and lets hope for your sakes they have worn out before any winter snow turns up!!

I was considering Yoko Parada 2's as my next tyre, but was shying away from 888's and I have more grip potential than you lot.

But you forget, because we get snow and rubbish weather we have winter tyres for such occasions. Were not like modern Britian's who have forgotten how to prepare your car and drive in the winter.
As you say though standing waters supposed to bring a bit more fun to the R888 experience
