Stange smell when staionary

Hi All

I've got an '06 Ibiza DAB, and just in the last day or so, I've noticed a strange smell when stationary (with the engine on). It's not an eggy or petrol type smell, but more of a slightly burnt smell. The smell goes when I pull away, but once I stop, it starts to smell after about a minute.

I had the car washed the other day at one of these "quick clean" places - could that have anything to do with it

As an aside, the service indicator has just come on too. It has 19000 miles on the clock btw

Any ideas?

possible cat converter breaking up inside, not good if it is that.

It's due a service at 20,000 - service indicator has come on early to allow you time to book it in.
