Splitter abuse?

So... how much abuse will the front splitter take before it tears off?

Every time I reverse onto my drive with the LCR the splitter scrapes on the road :cartman::cry:

Its inevitable that the splitter is going to get worn away.... nom nom nom....

But... What is the likleyhood of it simply tearing out of the bumper and destrying the fixing points?

How much abuse can it take?... I dont really want to take it off... it makes the front of the car look a bit rubbish!

scrapes like that are fine, probs start becoming noticeable the more you do it though.

As i found out last week, they cant cope hitting a rabbit at 70mph. It got broke into 4 pieces and wrapped in fur and blood, nice. Even then the splitter just popped out causing no damage to the bumper at all

Sorry to hear about the splitter, how was the rabbit??
My splitter is seriously screwed, but keep scraping it every week on something so can't be bothered to replace just yet.

I've bent mine on a speed bump :(

Mine is secured with many screws as I get that problem too, with the driveway being on a slope.

The splitter snaps before its breaks the bumper.

Ahha..... Ok... I wont worry too much.... once the road has grated enough of the splitter off.. it wont scrape any more:doh:

In my experience it's invaluable as you know when you are about to take the £400 bumper out and at £20ish they are cheap as chips

Keep abusing the splitter and consider it a consumable like tyres etc

After changing the suspension and lowering the car 20mm it scraped less - odd but true..........
