How does your DV sound with the open filter? What DV are you running also? I've probably read somewhere in your readers ride thread, but seen as your online lol... :headhurt:

I've no idea what my airflow is, I don't have vagcom unfortunately. Would be nice to know if my car is running healthily.

Seen as your a knowledgeable chap, which TIP would you buy?

1. LCR TIP- 80mm at the top, fits MAF. But slightly bigger at the bottom to fit K04 turbo.

2 Ibiza Cupra TIP- fits the turbo fine, but is too small for the MAF at the top.

Opinions pleaaaaaaaase? :)

I'm running a Forge 007p, and it sounds quite loud too.

Think I'd prob go for a LCR TIP myself, Rich. Then you dont have to use a reducer from the MAF to TIP.

See, thats the thing. My current TIP is stretched over the MAF, but it was such a ballache of a job that I don't fancy doing it again. Even though I know it can be done. I had to hack away at the inside of the TIP to give it that bit extra room.. almost went through it too lol.

I'll have to research the difference in inlet size between k04 and k03s and see if I'll be able to take up the slack.

I really think I should get a 007p again seen as they're the most widely used DV's. I had one before, but I sold it to make way for a Turbosmart dual port jobbie. I'm not convinced its the best thing for my car to be honest. The Mk3 boys seem to like their Turbosmarts, so I may sell it on. They cost so much new, that I could sell it for a reasonable price, and cover the cost of a new 007p lol.

I'm sure Benny is using a LCR TIP on his k03 hybrid...
I would rather there be a little slack that will be taken up with a good hose clip than strech the TIP over the inlet and put more strain on the TIP.

Forge 007p all the way mate :D

I'll have a look, I've read his whole thread a few times now lol. I'll see what jamiebennett is running also, and ian_cupra too.

I wish I'd stuck with my original 007p. The turbosmart I have is 2nd hand anyway so I don't know any history of it at all. A friend of mine found it in the footwell of a damaged Mk3 cupra that he was breaking for bits. I've no idea what tempted me to buy it as I run it fully re-circ anyway lol

your gonna have to fit your TIP again rich ;)

where did you disappear to earlier! i saw your car emerge later on, but didnt see you! antisocial bugger! :p

I had a football match to play :D I was hoping to be back sooner but I needed to get some food and food always comes first ;)

Fitting the TIP is such a biatch of a job. I'm kinda getting used to it now tho. The biggest hassle is getting the car on axle stands! You just wait til you do it, then we'll see who's laughing! :p

i have no problem getting my car on the axel stands, as i drive it onto 2 blocks of wood to get it high enough to get my trolley jack under. sod using the one that comes with it. its a pain in the arse getting the jacking point covers back on. had to take my side skirt off to do it last time

I should really drive mine onto something too. My car is too low to get a normal trolley jack under the chassis rails, so I have to do the first side on the sill. My neighbours across the road from me have a pit in their garage which would be mucho useful, but its so full of crap that I've no chance of borrowing it lol.

The 007 is a great valve mate. Got mine second hand then got a service kit from Forge, like new again :D

Have you still got the standard spring in it, or have you gone for an uprated one?

I've heard good things about the Forge actuator too, but my car is running fine besides the TIP, so I don't really wanna mess with it. Even tho i want to lol...
