If you fit LCR shocks then you could fit the LCR ARB but in all honesty I'd just fit an uprated ARB made for your car.

I think you'll notice just as much diiference from just uprating the ARB, there's plenty available as well for the LC.

hmmmh... would like clarification on this damien? thing is im on 22mm whiteline rear arb set to stiffest, do you think leaving shocks as they are and fitting uprated front arb would make the same improvements as uprating the shocks??

It's personal opinion though Willie and personally I think that starting off with a standard LC and putting LCR front shocks on just so you can fit the LCR front ARB is an expensive way of getting the same effect as just fitting an uprated ARB suited to the LC.

Don't get me wrong, the standard setup on the LCR is better then then standard setup on the LC no questions asked, but, I personally think you can get the suspension just as good and even better by getting uprated parts made for the LC.

If you were going to uprate the shocks to LCR ones, why not just get a set of FSD's or Bilstein's and get an uprated Whiteline or Eibach front ARB all made for the LC?

Well TBH I don't think you will get the same results.
A LC lowered to the same drop as a LCR has massive LCA geometry issues which in no way help the handling.
The best that can be done to sort out the LC handling is to shift over to the R32/LCR/Octavia set up. This allows 31mm drop from the LC OEM ride height with no LCA issues.
The LCA are a key handling attribute to the benefits of the LCR set up. This was proven by me and my mate with a 320 BHP LC, both running about the same ride height. But his LCA angles are WAY off. We were both on the track with very different track times

What springs and shocks are you running?

Just putting a uprated ARB on will reduce the body roll and stiffen the chassis up but add this to a set of good quality matched springs and shocks and the car will be transformed James.

The advantage of the Whiteline ARB is that it's adjustable so it can be made even stiffer.

janspeed shocks and springs -30mm at the minute... too much body roll not stiff enough. since quaife fitted then notice it more, obviously.

as for the cost issue... not really, spent upwards of 2k on handling already... but i dont really want to be spending more than £300 to find a solution to optimise the suspension setup.

i may have overlooked the answer but is cost an issue in this question

oh and to the original question, Weitecs are great, just fitted them and they're really good :)

how much of an improvement are the weitecs over the standard supension?, worth the money?
thanks

definately worth the money, i got them for a very good price but even at the RRP there still worth it. Ride quality is excellent, comfort has been sacrificed, handling improved, just a nice drop without being too low, just how it should be. I fitted new top mounts and bearings too but the others didn't appear too worn so 95% of the difference is easily shock and spring related.
