I'd guess the turbo does exactly the same job, but it's from USA, so you may save a bit on the purchase, but you'll have huge postage and import tax bills as its a heavy item. Also bear in mind what you'll have to do if it goes wrong... pay delivery back, pay delivery from them to you again, import tax again etc...

I don't think it's worth the saving simply for all the potential hassle you might have. I've had to get my turbo fixed twice already and I have a hybrid k03s.

I've a JBS04 turbo, Milltek turbo back exhaust, LCR MAF, LCR injectors, LCR fuel pump, Green panel filter in Cupra TDI airbox, N249 removed, N112 removed, SAI removed, turbosmart dual port DV, Forge TIP, and Custom Code phase 3. Think thats it....

I'm currently having issues with the inlet pipe coming off the turbo, but hopefully I'll have that sorted by the end of the week.

CR turbos aren't the only people who do hybrid's, there's Turbo Dynamics and possibly Backdraft too.

Fair enough but i though the ko3hyrbid should easy get 265+bhp and what the different from the cr turbo to backdraft version

I don't know the differences between the turbos myself, I'm sure someone else would be able to advise you. Have a search through the sponsors section, and the turbo tuning section of the forum and you may find some more information that you're looking for.

JBS quoted me 260-280bhp for the mods I have, so I was a little disappointed with 256 to be honest, but I think my problem with the inlet pipe not 100% on the turbo may have held it back a little.

Are you still on the standard mani, Rich?

Yeh I am at the moment. :(

I've just ordered a Jetex cone filter to replace my airbox. :D Should make it sound pretty good lol. Its more to relieve pressure on the TIP tho :)

How's your car running now you have your new exhuast? Notice much difference? :p

I 'think' the standard mani is only good for circa 250bhp so your prob maxing it out. You need a INA mani (me too ;)).

Mine is running awsome now. Exhaust has made all the difference :D

Just need a INA mani, LCR/TT injectors and MAF housing and hybrid. If only I had a spare £1k

I had an INA mani but I sold it to Ric2001 as it was gonna be alot of hastle to fit, ie labour, and i needed the cash due to lack of job. If I had enough money I'd probably go for a JBS one and get Bill at Badger5 to tweak my map to suit. He's a custom code dealer I think, and a damn site closer than Chesterfield!

Bill at Badger5 has a price for everything on his forum was just looking at it there seems alot of money but when you look at the gains you will see id say its well worth it! Will most likely be a road i will go down aswell but that wont be for a while yet since a dont have a spare 2k haha but i assure you if i did my car would be down there right now :D
Im also guessing with with this Hybrid upgrade does it improve your top speed at all? Not that 140 isnt fast enough anyways but i usually stick to the speed limits :)

Heard bad things about the JBS one mate.

The INA one is the only one not to crack yet.

Are you sure you don't mean the older JBS ones? The new k0x manifolds aren't even available til the end of the month. They look really good!

What filter did you order, Rich?

I'm thinking of ordering this one clicky, the 6th one down, its rated at 310bhp.

I ordered the 2nd one down on the Conical filters page. Bear in mind I have an 80mm MAF, the cylindrical filters they do don't have an 80mm option.

This page, 2nd one down, rated at 410hp.

You already have an open cone right? I've just fitted mine today and my DV is incredibly loud. Infact, it's so loud its almost embarrassing! If people couldn't see my car, they'd almost certainly think its a Subaru! :ban: I get alot of chatter with it too, I don't know if thats good or bad to be honest.

I took my TIP off today to give it a quick inspection before I fitted the new filter. I was saying earlier in the thread (I think) that I'm having problems with the TIP coming off the turbo inlet. Well, I looked at the turbo end of the TIP today, and it appears to have been trimmed down somewhat. So much infact, that everytime I tighten up the jubilee clip, it slips off the end [:@].

Now, I'm not pointing fingers, but when I received the TIP in the first place, I fitted it on my car with no mods to it at all, and didn't have a single problem. The only other people to have touched it are JBS.

I distinctly recall the turbo end of the pipe being a straight cut circle, but now its got such a dodgy chop on it that it looks like a drunk person cut it. My car went back to JBS with the inlet coming off, and when i got it home, the pipe was off again. JBS told me I needed uprated engine mounts at £622!! :censored: What I actually need is a new TIP because some dope cut it down too much. Thing is, I've had such bad experiences with them that I can't even be bothered to call them up and say about it. So this post is all I intend to say on the matter.

Oh yeh, I found a tool in my engine bay when I got my car back from them also... very professional service :censored:

Forgot you had a 80mm MAF

Yea, I already have a open cone filter but its ony a cheapo one from Halfords.

My max air flow is only ~175g/s so I was going to try the Jetex one.

How does your DV sound with the open filter? What DV are you running also? I've probably read somewhere in your readers ride thread, but seen as your online lol... :headhurt:

I've no idea what my airflow is, I don't have vagcom unfortunately. Would be nice to know if my car is running healthily.

Seen as your a knowledgeable chap, which TIP would you buy?

1. LCR TIP- 80mm at the top, fits MAF. But slightly bigger at the bottom to fit K04 turbo.

2 Ibiza Cupra TIP- fits the turbo fine, but is too small for the MAF at the top.

Opinions pleaaaaaaaase? :)
