Hi there, I have a 05 ibiza cupra TDI with a stage 2 TD turbo upgrade. I have had the car

set up by Paul at rs and the car makes 241bhp and 380 ft lb. I'm happy with the output its

just the delivery I am not so sure of. The power doesn't come in strong till just under 3K

does anyone know if this is normal or not ?

It depends on your interpretration of strong. My boost does not really come in until 2200 and really hard at around the rpm you are suggesting. Mine is hybrid and putting out around 225 and 375. With a hybrid you will never get the immediate sub 2000rpm urge that a standard small turbo gives. So what you are experiencing seems fine to me.
Its just a little annoying to have to wait for it to come in, but if you drive as you would a petrol car then its nowhere near as noticable.

No mate its not due to that. Its down to the size of the compressor wheel in the turbo and the time it takes to spin up and boost.

Funny, why do i have 1.95bar of boost @ 2000revs with my hybrid then?

Hm...maybe because of mapping? Naaaaa*g*

Mine is just starting to get going at 2000, pulls in 4th at 2800 like you would not believe.
On the motorway everything moves out the way, I just love my leon to bits. Yes its stage 2 and definitely has more than 207hp now, its so much quicker than the day jabba mapped it and the rr indicated 207 and 351

I thought you had your car mapped by P-torque?

Just had mine done with Paul@RS too.
Made 233.3bhp and 384ft/lbs

Your power delivery sounds about right.
Turbo begins to spool @2k and really pulls @2.5-3k upwards.

Tom, What mods have you done to achieve such a nice torque figure? :)

Any chance of a dyno print out?

Cheers

SEAT Sport FMIC,
Custom turbo back exhaust system with decat and small silencer,
PD160 Intake and Green panel filter,
Helix uprated clutch with single mass flywheel (450ft/lbs limit i believe)

Think thats about it in the engine deopartment, but also got to be able to handle that power, so coilovers, 312mm brakes with grooved disks, rear ARB, good tyres.

Mapping was by Paul@RS Tuning. Top quality service.

Will upload the dyno plot later.

Gotta love Paul at RS Tuning :D What a guy!

Yes did have it mapped there 1st but had some problems so took it to RS for final set up. Mine feels just like your power delivery, It just feels like there's not much below 3k cos its so fast above it:D.

Does yours or anyone else's smoke much cos mine does ?

Yeh i know exactly what you mean bud. Pulls so strong top end now.

Mine isnt too smokey in comparison to my mates. His is very smokey at the moment.

Were both fitting water/meth injection though, so hopefully that will clear it up a bit.

I think its just a given thing that a hybrid TDi will smoke though if you are running the higher power figures.

You'll have to come to one of the local meets as your not that far away from me. We sometimes have meets down at the Humber bridge.
