Well a decent re spray is going to be between £1200 -2000

I'd say fitting would cost about £600-1000 as all 4 arches need lining up and flushing in, so do all 4 doors plus all the holes in door need welding up by the looks of it

You prob want a set of 20's to fill those arches or it will look silly like it does in the pics? thats gonna be £1200-1800?

Some serious spacers to fill those arches....another few hundred

Insurance is not going to be cheap either as not a single part of that kit is straight replacement [apart from the bumper, unless you flush them in] and they hate things like that.

I take it you have to make all 4 arch liners as the standard ones will be no good.....more ££££'s

I'm not trying to put you off at all as its your money....spend it how you want mate.....I'm just trying to show its not going to be a cheap job at all

If you just had a normal bolt on kit it would cost much much less due to the amount of work involved.

Having said that.....I quite like the idea of the doors.

the spray will end up costing me about £800 including paint. fitting im expecting around £600.

already got a set of 18" chromes with tyres which set me back £250 - got them off a cose friend who had them on his leon - spacers yes and i have no idea.
door kit £250 ( cant get suicide doors as the kit would hit in th back of car and it would **** up so just the front ). all in without buying the kit or the wheels i was looking at 2k for fitting spraying and the doors. and thats 2k at a max. i was realistically looking at £1600 because we know the guy so well

dont worry we've all done the big body kits and wheels, just remember if you spend 5 grand on a car modding it you'll never make that back when you sell it

upto you mate, but id be spending 2k on

1. coilovers £450 weitecs
2. s3 upper brace £60
3. s3 lower brace £30
4. tt wishbone bushes £20
5. rear arb £140
6. new top mounts £30
7. good tyres £350
8. 4 wheel alignment £80
9. remap to use that power £300

thast then leaves 570 to get a decent set of 18 inch alloys

youll then have a quick car that handles perfectly well and looks like a total sleeper.

more fun suprising more powerful cars in the twisties than trying to look powerful, adding weight to a non powerful car.

my opinion, but i think youll be happy with the above mods and notice more difference than adding a wide ass bodykit that imo doenst suit the understated looks of the leon

but thats what i think from experience of having all the above mods plus a quaife, makes me smile everyday mate.

but im 19 i got nothing else to save up for

Is it fun living with your mum still?

I know it's old manish - but I wish that at 19 when i had a few grand I'd kept it in the bank for a house deposit.

You can make an 'OK' car like a Leon, very nice. Sticking fibreglass & filler all over it is nuts. You'll have grown out of it by the time you've paid it back to the bank.

actually im paying £400 a month mortgage. i do have resposibilites. but i do get extra cash. and i think that having a car that shows i spent money wouldnt be too bad. i know i will never get the money back as i have a few friends that have done it.. and i know some people wont like it. but for the time i have it i think id enjoy it.. you only live once. i can say i have been there and done it. when the time comes i can buy a smart standard car and say well i did it. live for the moment :)

and the doors is now a no-go- area. friend that had them on his A3 said they will long term be a major headache as they will be universal and will always have an issue eventually. his came to a point in winter where the door wouldnt close.

Im 19 with a leon at this mo in time. Im having so many problems with Im getting depressed about it !! the car is making me down. I have spent 6K on it in over a year and it looks do diffence from just getting ripped off by garages doing crap repairs that break other parts casue they cant do there job. Im now trying to fix things myself and I know noting about it. And just going around circles. The car is too expensive for me to own. I think I be selling it for bout £600!!! :(. And getting something like a crap SAXO. Life sucks !

£6k? Ouch! Looking at your avatar, it's a 1.4? Get rid buddy, if £6k can't save it, nothing will.

its a 1.6 Sport I don't want to get rid of it !!! lol. I have wrote a thread on what the problem is and Adam has routed me off the the problem but I just gone around the corner where there is a garage who has looked at my car and he says its not the flap :(. Im running out of hope !!! It does not help I know noting aobut under the hood only how to drive so garages take this for the upper hand. Even if I try to sound like I know what im tlaking aobut it comes out wrong. !!!

You're not leaving yourself alot of choice, sometimes you just have to say goodbye!

I had a 106 GTi and it ate 3 gearboxes, that was under normal driving. I lost hope after the 4th one was getting killed, no mechanic or gearbox specialist could save it and I waved it off. I soon moved on.

You're problem here is that on a forum folk can voice what they think of a car that looks like that, what people think when you drive it down the street.

Now....i've never mentioned it on here before but...I have a car in my drive with Lambo doors on it :ban:

Here is a pic.....

DSC_0028.jpg

HOWEVER

The car will not be taxed and moted til the doors have been put back to standard. The receipt for these doors were given to me when I bought the car. They cost £2000 (wtf).

Since then they have proceeded to rip the hell out the wiring system in the car, and the doors just dont close right, or look right when they are closed.
