why not save your money and buy a more powerful car, instead of wasting it on doors which will just look ridiculous? you won't get your money back when you come to sell the car. if anything, you'll sell it for less as you'll alienate 95% of the market.

spend the money on a remap and some decent springs

the insurance is my main setback at the moment. i was planning on waiting untill im 21 with 3years NCB before buying a performance car. i have driven fast cars and been insured on them and id prefer one day to day but this is just so much cheaper. and to be honest the price i paid for the car is cheap in my eyes and if i were to sell today im sure i could make £1000 profit. if i were to get a bodykit and keep the car untill i turn 21 and even if i make my money back on just the car and not the kit id be happy because i owned it for two years and only lost out on the kit - IF i lose out on it. well maintained car should fetch good money. thats why id rather get it all done at once by someone's quality i have seen and can trust

can i just throw another can of worms into the equasion. If your worried about insurance on a performance car what are your insurance gonna say when you tell them ive just wacked a bodykit, lambo doors and chrome alloys on your car. know doubt some springs aswell.

As everyone else saying save your money and plan for the future. ;)

That bodykit would cost a serious amount of money to fit, there's hours and hours of work to flush all that in and most normal bodyshops wouldn't even do it.........then theres the fact it looks.......er.......s*it :cartman:

Trust me the remap route is the way to go - most bang for your buck.

Plus the added advantage of being a sleeper....

Function over form and all that!

Just make sure you tell your insurance

i think im just going to go ahead. looks different. and just going to get it sprayed in a light color. the insurance and running costs difference on a sports car and a modified diesel would probably still be cheaper to have the modified one. and i wont be tempted to put my foot down as much. and the kit - well agreed there are better 1's but i can get that at a good price and its wide arched. something that makes it even more different. as for the power the minimum id be looking for at least 200bhp and even then id want more. kit it is :) eventually :)

been told to buy the kit and take it down as he cant quote me without knowing how much work will need to be done. but i know alot of car traders that take cars to him weekly so he is going to get it done as cheap as possible. im going to buy the kit and the door kit and then find out the cost. i dont really mind i work my ass off and dont have to many resposibilitys. but i can justify spending 2k all at once. rather save it up slowly and then i know that it wont take a large chunk out of my pocket at once. and if its done by the end of the year will be ready for the new year and hopefully it might be good weather

Well a decent re spray is going to be between £1200 -2000

I'd say fitting would cost about £600-1000 as all 4 arches need lining up and flushing in, so do all 4 doors plus all the holes in door need welding up by the looks of it

You prob want a set of 20's to fill those arches or it will look silly like it does in the pics? thats gonna be £1200-1800?

Some serious spacers to fill those arches....another few hundred

Insurance is not going to be cheap either as not a single part of that kit is straight replacement [apart from the bumper, unless you flush them in] and they hate things like that.

I take it you have to make all 4 arch liners as the standard ones will be no good.....more ££££'s

I'm not trying to put you off at all as its your money....spend it how you want mate.....I'm just trying to show its not going to be a cheap job at all

If you just had a normal bolt on kit it would cost much much less due to the amount of work involved.

Having said that.....I quite like the idea of the doors.
