shreading Tyres

Hi guys,
I have a slight issue. Since i bought my car i've probably done about 1500 miles (ish) since i bought it with about 6mm tread on the back tyres when i picked it up (found the hand over sheet)

I have now been told by my local garage that i have 3, 2, 2mm on the backs..... I've had a wheel alignment check done (thats when i found out bout the depths), and it was the fronts that where way out and as a result have lost about 2mm in 500miles

Now the dealer provided me with the car not 2 months ago so im going to park it in the middle of wolverhampton SEATs forcourt until they sort it and replace the tyres.

They swear blind there is nothing wrong with the car and are trying to say its the way that im driving and road surfaces, which personally i think is bull. I know that they replaced the roll bar and bushes before they handed it over, but i dont know which ones.

What could be causing the car to shread that much depth in such little time?

I spend most of my time pounding up and down the A6 doing about 70 or stuck in a jam outside of Bedford.

Any ideas would really be appreciated.

wolvehampton seat are shocking, i broung one of my ibiza's from there and have never been back since, try kidderminster much better

Wolves seat, i've been there to fix my problem window 4 times, 4 out of 4 they have not fixed it and now my warrenty has run out, they couldnt give a ****.

tbh they wont take owner ship of tyres and you're porbably gonna waste fuel/time = money on trying to sort them which would replace them.

My opinion, lesson learnt move on, a stealer is you best mate up until the point you drive away.

i know what you mean, it's just unfortunate that i bought the car from them, i usually get repairs done at Motorvogue Northampton (just read the forum response on them) or MK which seem to be fairly good with the aftersales, just clueless when it comes to selling the cars as both of those are local to me.

It seems to be a common SEAT trait, great cars, crappy dealers. Or maybe its just me

The reason im taking it back to them is that i picked the car up on the 31st of May and its scrubbed 4mm in a month, and as they sold it, its Barlows problem and they should replace or contribute towards new tyres.

It was MK that told me the roll bar and bushes had been changed very recently whilst they where repairing other little problems. Barlows never told me anything until i pushed them a bit.

Do you have any idea's at all to what could be causing the tyres to loose so much tread?? Im desperate here, im down to 1.9mm on the inner part of the rear tyres.

Its certainly looking that way, but the sales manager who im talking with has agreed that i shouldn't have had to pay out £50 on a wheel alignement and £200 on tyres 1 month after delivery, so that to me says that he's thinking of fixing and compensating??

does anybody have any clue to whats causeing the excessive wear?? as the problem still aint fixed and is ongoing

Sounds most like excessive toe, or nackered bushes letting the toe change under acceleration/braking. Or you are driving like a loon.

bushes sounds favorite then. Yes i drive quickly but no more than about 80mph on the motorways as i kinda like my liscence and theirs to many mobile camera vans.

Can the bushes be replaced under warrenty??
