Remaping a cupra

I haven't purchased a cupra yet but i am on the look out for one,

When i do get my hands on one i will probably remap it but there seems to be some many tuning companys out there and lots of different remaps,

What are the differences between, superchips (bluefin), revo, custom code, apr? p-torque, etc..

What sort of power do they run on stage 1 and do you have to modify the car in anyway or can you put a stage 1 straight on?

Also is there any in gear acceleration times for a stage1 and stage2, and what sort of psi do stage1 and 2 run?

Just looking at Jabbasport, and they offer a generic remap and a custom one, are jabba remaps any good?

if you plan on going the whole hog with your car ie further than stage 1 go for revo or giac.

stage 1 can be run on a standard car.

Revo stage 1 is usually between 310-315hp.

Whos map has the straightest torque curve, i've seen a few revo's graphs and they look like they only spike then drop drastically

you can change the settings with revo ie boost, timing and fuel so some people may have aggresive settings which explains the spike others more progressive nice tourque curve depends how you like it.

as said must be settings. The curve im personal with is beatuiful and consistent ;)

Changing settings is easy but I dont quite understand why people would want to stray away from the tried and tested generic maps available from revo :shrug:

There are a lot of in gear times for Revo's stage 2+ K1 in the June edition of Performance car mag.

Obviously this is above the stage you are looking at but it will give you some idea of the potential on offer.

Torque on Revo stage 1 running fairly high boost is huge, the car pulls like a train in all gears. This will give some impressive in gear times.

Can you get hlod of the setting s anywere as mine are all set to 6 if this makes sense from my revo stg 1 read out?

Do you have a mk1?

If so i'm not sure how the settings work on there as i believe they differ slightly to the mk2. Best check with revo, boost at 6 i think is standard performance setting, timing at 6 is quite high - will need good fuel. Not sure on fuel setting on yours and whether it can be altered.

I'm no expert but in this weather they aren't bad settings to be fair, you could try running a bit higher boost at ambient temps of less then 15 degrees - say 8 and drop timing to 4. You need to be running on best fuel you can, Shell VPower seems to be the way to go.

On stage 1 i ran boost 8 timing 4 fuel 9. The cars pace in a straight line was the same as an Evo FQ340 on one occasion i recall.

You can't alter the fuel setting unless you are running a high pressure pump.

Ideally you have to set the car up by logging data on Vagcom, see what max boost you can run at for the given conditions then alter your timing until you are seeing the right levels of timing pull.

I assume you aren't running any other mods?

Ye the switch is worth the extra cash really, mainly if you are planning on adding other mods to the car.

I've not had it on the RR yet, i'm currently waiting for Revo to get back to me as i'm not totally convinced its running stage 2+. The car has been running a few different specs lately so im a bit lost with it at the moment! I was expecting some problems with getting the power down (which you will from a standing start sprint) from a rolling start the wheels will scrabble a bit in 2nd and 3rd, nothing too serious. I couldn't make any ground on a '03' 996 Carrera 4S today, they are 316hp and weigh 1470kg so its hard to say.

I was running aggresive settings too so in theory the car should be producing around 340bhp.
