This is one big reason why I have decided not to do any more trackdays at Knockhill:

Without a roll cage he may have died! Seen too many rollovers and bad driving at Knockhill over the years, not something I wish to participate in.

A new WMI controller is on it's way to me from Devils Own, should hopefully arrive later this week.

.......

nice floor pan mod and exhaust exit on the front bumper
seems it was a purpose built track day car, shame its not any more!!!

Looking Good Rob, you really do have an amazing car... ill look forward to seeing it at the national.

good luck with the WMI, the Devil own kit is very good, it must have one of the best standard controllers out there (obviously not your first one) and you will really see the difference when you get it set up right.

im not sure how you can do much more but keep it up

Yeah i've not heard many good words said about them recently, seem to have let their rep slide due to a lack of interest.

Car is running really great again, pulling hard in every gear and feels very strong. To cool the water/methanol down in the tank I tried strapping a couple of these to the tank:

Seems to work as the water/methanol in the tank was pretty cold after a while. Don't know how much power the car is making but performance is stronger than ever and pulls really hard, feels like it should be over the 300bhp mark now.

I have made a direct comparison of an Ebay intercooler vs the Forge big race intercooler. After running the big Forge for a few days, doing some hard test runs, etc. I swapped it over for a large bar and plate intercooler I got off ebay for £90. To my surprise there was no difference at all, no loss of performance, no increase in lag due to extra pressure drop, nothing - car performs just the same, boosts the same, feels the same!!! I ragged my car for a good while today and no performance drop at all, I think the WMI helps but a £90 IC vs a £700 IC I have to say the £90 IC performs awesome! (both were tested with WMI activated)

Forge big race intercooler:

CONCLUSION
I am VERY impressed with the £90 bar and plate intercooler, no discernable difference in performance compared to a £700 kit. I am keeping the ebay core and selling the Forge kit. Another reason is that the ebay core looks more intimidating on my car too! :D

For those interested in what intercooler it is, here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FRONT-MOUNT-I...66:2|39:1|72:1689|240:1318|301:0|293:4|294:50

I've also been running a Bailey DV26 fully atmo dump valve for a while now. I reduced the decreasing fuelling a little to compensate for the extra fuel spike at gear changes. So far ZERO problems, no fault codes, no check lights nothing, just great running and great sound!!!

Interesting about the intercooler Rob. Makes you wonder whether there is any difference in design of the intercooler to disipate the heat? Its not like PC overclocking when you have all sorts of shapes and size cooler for CPUs...

Every article I've read says bar and plate offers superior heat rejection than tube and fin, leading to more consistent performance.

"A properly designed bar and plate intercooler being fed ample airflow in the front of a vehicle offers exceptional cooling efficiency that translates to lots of consistant power. Any flow restriction is easily overcome by sizing it large enough for your needs, as long as you can make room for it."

I'm only going by my own personal testing, the ebay core is not quite as tall as the Forge but is thicker, plus it gets 100% airflow to the front of it, not blocked by the crashbar at all.

Nothing wrong with the Forge at all, far from it, just putting my findings out there for all to see.
