Ok at first i was ready for thrills of a tank, sitting there waiting to pull off the forecourt thinking it was going to be a ok ride but no!! it was more than ok, infact it impressed me more than the 180 petrol.

The petrol version is good but the TDI has much more pull and fun to it, plus with 52.8 mpg return how can we complain?

The saxo feels like a little boy reaching for the top shelve compared to this.

I think that they diesel cupra outsold the petrol a fair bit - much easier sale standard

It blew me away, the only thing that stopped me buying it was because it was black and i wanted a yellow one.

The black one has grown on me tho, looks more mature and posh lol[B)]

Black cars look good when washed and polished, Mine is Black. But give it 20 mins of driving, less if wet, and then it will look mucky again. I agree with you any Seat looks very good in Yellow, TBH IMO it's about the only car that looks good in Yellow. If I had a Seat I would probably want a Yellow or a Black one.

Have your thought about buying the Ibiza FR TDi and remapping it with revo?? if you liked the pull of the cupra tdi a revo mapped fr makes it moe powerful than a cupra TDi with better running costs and insurance group 8 instead of 15.. just a thought

Ive got black, and think it looks great. When its polished and waxed theres no beating it - but as said above it does need to be cleaned regularly. I try to clean mine once a week (but I do do 500 miles in that time). I do like the look of them in yellow though, but still think I prefere the black, and I would always be afraid of someone vandalising my car if it was yellow.

And yes, derv isnt as bad as it used to be!

Totally random but...
I think the black cupra on ur pic looks mint! Should i hold out for yellow or buy black?

black does look proper good, especially when it's all clean and shiny, but there's something about a yellow SEAT that just looks right.

as far as getting an FR and mapping it goes you'd still be without the FMIC, the bigger turbo, the bigger brakes, the darker interior and deep down you'll know you wanted the Cupra but cheaped out and got an FR :p ;)

a Cupra remaps just as easy but I'm not in a postion where there's a grand to come off my insurance :D

don't know what people consider a top end BMW, but I can't see a remapped FR/Cupra TDI being too much of a problem to a 335d - they're 282bhp and 428lb ft :-o

the cheaped out comment was somewhat tongue in cheek (hence the smileys), but what would you call wanting a Cupra but getting an FR just because it's cheaper?

If you looked at both and decided that you flat out preferred the FR or you didn't think the differences between the two was worth the extra money, that would be a different matter altogether

:)

I realise it was meant as a joke :) its ok:D

however, when i bought my FR, i looked at fuel economy, insurance group and the actual cost difference of the two and made what i hoped was an informed decison that the FR was the better choice for me due to..my financial and employment situations.

I decided after some time that the difference between the two were not large enough for me to warrent paying the extra..both on intial cost and insurance...which was considerable at the time.

Anyway back to the point....im sure you would be extremely happy with a cupra diesel, as already mentioned diesel technology has come on leaps and bounds and does more than enough to keep a smile on your face. :)

When I bought my old FR ibiza and not the cupra it was 100% to do with the way too hard suspension on the cupra  It was like a hard tail chopper:lol:

The Leon is in a different league when it comes to the ride

Platinum grey gets my vote for the best colour ;)

It looks fairly clean even when it's really dirty :)
