i am guessing it allows for the boost to be sustained for longer due to the inlet temps being cooler i.e. a more efficient/advancement on an FMIC?

Not much of an update - but the electrics are fixed now, mainly thanks to the heavy-duty battery, cables and junction box - my actuator is knackered and it also had no pre-load on it, so as soon as my car started to make boost the wastegate opened - hence no power.

I've sent the actuator to Forge who are hopefully going to replicate it with one of their uprated adjustable ones. So once I get that back and fitted I should have full power again.

More reliable, better made, rebuildable and should hold boost better than the OE ones.

Forge are making me a custom actuator because this ATP one is not an off-the-shelf one, so they are making one for me with a slightly different shape arm so it opens and closes the wastegate better than before, should be ready by Tuesday.

While I'm waiting on the new actuator, I have done a few small jobs.

First up was to tidy up the three resistors for the SAI, N112 and N249, I mounted them on a plate and rewired them so they're tidy:

Next up was to fit a Sierra Cosworth bonnet stay, I can't use the normal gas arm as it's too stiff for the lightweight carbon bonnet:

Here you see the battery cable and WMI hose coming from the boot, the WMI hose is protected by convoluted plastic:

WMI controller fitted inside the car:

Finally I removed the coolant header tank and fitted a small Focus RS chargecooler tank, relocated to beside the swirl pot, looks very neat there:

Next week I'll have pics of the new Forge actuator, once fitted hopefully she'll be back to full power again.

hey rob just a quick question mate. Are you no longer running the turbosmart d/v then. Noticed in the pics above that the d/v looks like it has changed again?

Thanks in advance Mark

P.s Loving the mods. Comming along very nicely [B)]

Update time. Found someone on here selling a brand new Forge big race intercooler kit for a good price so I snapped it up:

Forge have finished making my new custom actuator and I will have it tomorrow. Hopefully this should be the end of all my problems and I should have full boost back again - fingers crossed!!!

Lastly a better pic of the WMI nozzle placement while the bumper was off:

With hopefully full boost back I'll finally get to find out the effects of the WMI on my car!

Did the crash bar come with the FMIC?
Is this one the same as the one for the other Forge FMIC but with holes cut in the face of it?

Ah, ok. Just wondering why you changed from the Pro Alloy one realy mate. But if the Forge one is larger then it makes sence.

Inlet & outlets on the Forge one does look quite small compaired to the rest of the pipework though, or is it just my eyes?
