Help with Fault code

Hello all,

I have just scanned the car this afternoon using VAG.COM, could any body shed any light on a fault code I found stored please, I have my suspicions its pointing to a new MAF but thought Id double check with you guys first as I could be wrong.
The code in question is P0102 mass or volume air flow circuit low input.

yeah mate, firstly get some contact cleaner and give it a clean, that may help the situation for a while.

Cheers Forbez I kinda knew it was stating the obvious but just wanted somebody to confirm before I ordered one that was all, thanks though bud. Thought the car was alot thirstier on the 99 lol.

Yeah mate, still got it, just got a Mini Cooper S aswell. I really should update my signature.

I'd try cleaning your MAF firstly mate, and clear the code and try logging the MAF to see what its running at .

Cool, nice little car they are, how does it compare to the cupra being smaller displacement and supercharged? Bet it handles really well and you can get good power out of them with some small mods. Im a novice with the old VAG.COM how do you log the MAF? Also I have unplugged the MAF and gone for a little drive and it feels a tad more pokey so I think its definately goosed.

I haven't used Vagcom for ages.

I think you need to log either block 002 or 115 iirc.


The Cooper S aint bad to be honest, its suprising really, I drive it and think it feels slow, but then I look down and i'm doing 80 ish.

Perhaps its because when your doing 80 in the cupra, things fall off.

Not a bad car tbh, handling wise though, my cupra has it, no doubt. But then the cupra is modified.

I just hate leaving either car any where now.

how do you go about cleaning the maf...??? I had a pipercros filter on before and i think it screw my maf a bit no eml's but fills a bit rough and a clean may sort it...

Couldnt search as i was on my mobile had a look now found some stuff on here and on youtube going to get some contact cleaner or carb cleaner or somthing later...

Hopefully will make it run a bit better...
