Should I get a 55 plate cupra?

Hi Fellas, im sure im asking a daft question as im on a Seat forum obviously but any advice info you can give will be greatly appreciated as im pretty keen now on getting a Cupra.

Basically i have to part-ex a 51 plate Astra Sxi 1.6 with 64k on the clock which i hope to get about 1.5k for and the Cupra is up for £7995 (with £500 internet voucher discount). Its a 55 plate Ibiza with 13,500 miles.

Any info on how reasonably (or not!) it is and what price I should aim to pay appreciated. Also any certain areas to inspect and to keep an eye out for on my test drive.

I would say it's a little bit overpriced but I suppose you always pay a bit more from dealers. How about a much faster 54 plate one for £6400? I'm selling mine if you're interested..

As above, once you drive one you will have to get it. Ive had mine nearly a year now and i gotta say that i am very pleased with mine. I drive expensive cars on a regular basis i.e A4's, Merc C class's, BMW 3 series, all with a year or too old, and alot of these do not match the ibiza in terms of value for money or performance

Yeh great cars mate got mine a few months ago over the moon with it plus ive not seen another mk4 Cupra around where i live so always nice to have a rare car

my 2 cents............had the fr about 14 months now had 1 or 2 small problems nothing much,and still love going out in it.....try and get the price down a little more it's a buyers market

Guys thanks alot for the feedback, even if i dont end up buying a Seat ill keep reading what you fellas say nice to see such a well managed and contributed to forum.

Ill prob arrange a test drive this weekend and ill let you know how quickly i fall in love with it! The sensible option is the 07 plate 1.4 sport they have for about a grand less but wheres the fun in that!

Thanks also re price, its on the forecourt at £8500 but if you print something of the website its £8000 before you even start negotiating.

Try looking on the net for the same age car with lower prices and print them off to take with you so you have same ammo when you start negotiating

I agree with Damo on the this, I got my cupra for 7,500 12 months ago, its an 05 plate, had 20,000 on the clock at the time, mint condition, extended warranty and i even got them to give me 2,500 for my 02 plate fiesta

I paid £9000 18 months ago for a 54 plate with 16k I think £8000 is still too high for this one tho, especially considering it is £8500 without the discount. Check out Parkers or What Car? and you will see you should be paying £500-£1000 less

One quick one, how much does one cost to fill and how many miles do you get out of a full tank if your driving it reasonably sensibly? Ta

I filled my Cupra up the other day cost me £38.01 dam penny but that was using Shell V-power at £1.02 pl As for mileage i havnt really tested this yet as i have a heavy foot lol
