excesive smoke

cleaned out my egr valve on my leon tdi 150 the other day, when i got it off found it really caped in crap, now it is back on it smokes twice as bad. big puffs of black smoke when ever i boot it. looks embarrasing when driving lol. anyone had this before on their leons if so what was it?

my 130pd smokes quite bad, changed the air filter but ant really bothered with it much as iv got no loss in power, if it aint broke, dont fix it i say =) but if anyone has any ideas...

i have put a pipercross airfilter in a few months ago, tried driving down the motorway in 5th trying to blow any crap out but tat didnt work it just drank my fuel lol just seems worst now

check if the pipes are all secure and not leaking,maybe even dwn by the intercooler

checked all pipes no faults with them everythig is secure. just have to see how it goes. hopefuly it will clear its self out

did you clean out the inlet manifold??

maybe try resetting the ecu? if it was really bad before you cleaned it out the ecu might be 'trained' to overfuelling?
just a thought, I could be wrong.

disconnect battery negative terminal for 15 mins
car will run differently until it relearns everything

what just the negative terminal disconnected and leave pos on, will this reset any map/chip people have ,

i suppose the ecu would also relearn my filter & decat full system then !?

no didnt clean out the manifold sean but spke to al at awesome today and he said after the car has been mapped it will smoke more than normal. due an oil change next month anyway so will see what it is like then

mine was smoking heavily and i mean thick black smoke until i changed the oil, from now on i will be doin an oil change every 6000 miles
