Hello all. Just a Rant really. I have spoken to a few people who are selling their Leons and found out that they are also getting a lot of people offering them stupid money for their cars. If a car is for sale for £8000 why on earth would you even bother to offer £6000. ARE YOU STUPID!!!!!!!!
Lower your standards!
Rant over!

That's not how it works. If that's the case then demand for them isn't that high.

I mean I think they are very good cars, but if no one else thinks the same thing then the selling price will be lowered accordingly...

Basic economics really.

If they where all low prices then fair enough make low offers, but why even bother trying to knock 2 grand off the price. People should just buy a **** car instead of a good one.

You're always gonna get timewasters trying their luck I guess! They're probably offering the same £6k for that 06 reg RS4 they saw in the same free-ads! :)

A car is only worth what people are prepared to pay for it. Doesn't matter how much it was when it was bought or how much you've spent on it.

Like it or lump it if you want £8k for a LCR and there are only people around who will pay £6k for it then it's worth £6k.

It doesnt make it worth 6000 does it.

Yes it does! Anything is only worth what people will pay for it. If no-one will pay £8k then how can it be worth £8k. Simple economics mate. I bet estate agents love you ;)

However in your for sale thread you say:

A bit of interest but no offers. Come on lads dont be shy to offer!

Make me some offers?

And then moan about people making you offers?

A dealer will only offer you about 4700 at the moment.

Its a buyers market my friend... if you have to get rid....

Yeah depends how quick you want to sell it. In my case if I decided to sell I wouldn't let it go for less than £8500 so it might either take a long time or no-one would buy it. To me that's how much I value it in today's market but doesn't mean anyone else would...

If I only had £6k to spend I would ask. Firstly because you asked people to make you offers and secondly because as a buyer you don't know how desperate someone is to sell.

Being honest, with todays market I would value your car £6500 based on the specs in the thread. If someone really wanted it then perhaps £7000. When selling cars modifications generally make no difference, unless they are cosmetic where they will devalue the car.

not being fuuny Jacupra but you have listed your car in a thread where the buyer says they have a max budget of £6.5k but now your saying it's worth £8k. I understand that you think it's worth £8k, thats fair enough but if you don't want people make low offers don't post in threads where the buyer has well below your price expectation to start

In general why not, if your in the market to buy the less you spend the better and at the moment some people want rid and need the cash fast so you cant blame them for trying really. Some people blatently over value there car and now Mk2's are comming down in price R's they should be cheaper although 2k must feel like a smack in the face i just guess they arent a serious buyer so dont sell it and move on.
