Flywheel Rattling but no clutch slip?

Hi all.

Had my PD130 remapped by P Torque around 6k miles ago.

Over the past few weeks I've noticed that after a long run, I park up take the car out of gear with the clutch up ticking over and I can hear a rythmic knocking/ rattling every 5 seconds.

I am fairly sure its the flywheel as its coming from below the car and the passenger side footwell.

Thing is though I don't have any clutch slip at all, is this normal? I have been careful not to floor it below 2k rpm.

How long until it starts affecting the clutch plate do you reckon? And is it servicable in its current state or new DMF time?

Not sure if I want an SMF as I hear they're a bit well, wAnk because theyre so noisy?

A Dmf will rattle without clutch slip, It may never slip but just get worse & eventually fail.
If you don't want to go the Smf route, Then your only option is a new Dmf & Friction plate Etc.

The remap may not of helped, But the Dmf was probably already in a worn state to start with.

Mmmm, depends, if your going for more power in the future, hybrid etc, i would say stick a SMF and uprated clutch such as helix or sachs in, but if your not, get a new DMF and uprated friction disk etc as said. I have a SMF and uprated sachs clutch in mine and tbh, the rattle isnt that bad, you only hear it slightly over the diesel engine anyway. Do it right first time ;)

Get it diagnosed properly before making any decisions, but even to sell it you might still end up having to get it done. My original DMF lasted 75k miles (70k of that on Revo) and although worn, was only replaced because I thought it best whilst the car was in bits having a clutch change.

A new DMF will probably last as long as you have the car. Whilst its in bits, change your clutch for something appropriate to take the power, but I think a 130 can take a remap without a clutch upgrade - do a search on here to find out better though.
