2001 Ibiza Cupra - Power Goes flat at 80mph in 3rd gear?? HELP

Went 1/4 mile racing today at York Raceway at the car was running brilliantly until it hit around 82mph on the clocks in Third Gear it went quite flat and had to change up to 4th.

Its Strange and it did it on all 5 runs. I Know it could do with a service but i dont think that would effect it?

The Only mods it has is full cat-back stainless scorpion system, bypass valve and Pipercross Filter......

Any Ideas, help would be much appreciated

what revs was it at, prob hit the limiter, in which case it does cut out.

Not sure its at the limiter at 80 its gettin close but mines gone past 80 in 3rd before...at the risk of starting another what filter thread though i would bin the pipercross they have a habit of eating maf's...

K03 will run out of puff at those rpm.

mines done ton and some more in 3rd!

was crossing line at pod in 3rd at around 96-98mph

As above I think mine will do a ton in 3rd if you really want to push it that hard, not much point on a K03 though

You're best bet is to get some logging done in VAG COM - boost, air flow etc so we can see what might be going on

115 in 3rd!(on the clock)! your turbo is prob running out of puff (not drugs puff flow puff) as said before! on an open track it dosent seem like your goin as fast ect! change the filter the oil from the piper x isnt good for your maff! oh and vag com it! everyone with a ibiza cupra should have vag com!
more important then a spare tyre!

what filter do you recommend i run then if i was to get rid of the pipercross?

jettex is the most preferred and MAF friendly, have a search of "filters", loads of helpful "shizzle" will show up lol.

its down to personal taste really mate lots of options, have a look at readers ride threads to see what people are using and see how they done it, they will also have pics. see what takes your fancy.

I can make over a ton in 3rd, but i dont see the point going over 6k in any gear, no point, change up before! Yerh the Jetex filters are very popular, got one myself and cant fault it at all. Great induction noise aswell.... can really hear it sucking up air

if you have a bigger turb its worth goin over 6k

whats the cheapest big power conversion i could do, im intrigued but really have no knowledge about the whole ibiza conversions,

ive got an intercooler, but what parts would i need to go ko4 etc and how much would it cost me?
