BT or Hybrid

Right, getting to the stage of thinking about things to do after the wedding (and deposit for house sorted) and wondering whether to go BT or whether it's possible/worth hybrid'ing my turbo.

Car's a 2001 Leon Cupra 180 (petrol) with the K03s turbo - currently mapped and running at 215bhp/250lb/ft - would ideally like something in the 280-300bhp range - nice and driveable being the main thing.

Is it better going straight for a BT, or is it possible to hybrid the K03s (not sure what part of the K03s is the main restriction that limits it to 240bhp) or would sticking a K04 be a better bet?

Assuming by keeping the K03s as a hybrid I'd be able to keep the manifold as well, just need a new DP/exhaust for best performance, and a FMIC will definitely be on the list no matter what I do.

Thoughts/comments/ideas would be great - not something I'd probably be able to do for at least another year, but would be good knowing options and start looking out for the bits needed.

Cheers!

I would go for a hybrid k03 for the power your after.

What mods do you currently have?

Have a look in Bill's section as he has just started doing hybrids.

Yeah just saw Bill's hybrids which looks like a good route to take.

Currently no real mods to speak of - induction kit and P-Torque Stage 1 map so would be starting from scratch - imagine going the hybrid route a lot of the supporting parts can be bought/fitted before the hybridisation - FMIC, sports cat, FPR, TIP etc.

Yea, if going hybrid route you could fit everything bar the injectors and TIP & MAF and just drive it to your chosen mapper and get them to fit the rest. You might even be able to fit the lot and just take it easy on the drive to the mappers.

Hybrid is my chosen route if I go for more power.
