Fitting of front wheel bearings on an 03 Ibiza TDi Sport?

Soz if it's been covered already but i've had a quick look and couldn't find the answer.

Is there anything other to do when fitting the front wheel bearings than using a press to press them into the hub carrier on an 03 Ibiza TDi Sport?

I ask cos my garage are on with fitting the 2nd one now after the 1st one decided to "creep" out of the hub carrier after just 750 mile causing the fixed part of the brake caliper to touch the brake disc....not good!

Any help much appreciated so i can inform the garage in the morning.

I don't have to tell the garage how to do it because they've already done it!!
I'm asking to see if there's anything other than pressing the bearing/hub into the hub carrier simply because the 1st one moved.
I find the actual fitment of a MK4 Ibiza wheel bearing strange when there seems to be nothing to hold it into the hub carrier other than the toothed ring?

I haven't personally changed one myself hence why i'm asking for advice from people who have actually done the job rather than someone who hasn't.......


If someone can reply who has actually done this job it would be much appreciated.

Beezanick's point stands though - the garage should be able to fit first time properly, not you have to read up on the matter to advise them after the first one fails!

thats the strange thing about forums, you put up a question about anything, and people will answer whether its their forte or not.. its also strange how newbies can engraciate and endear themselves to the longer standing members of a given forum.. its a bit like walking into a pub on a housing estate 300 miles away from home.. you wouldnt walk in and expect everybody to follow your train of thought.. the two posters in my opinion (and yes, Im now giving an opinion thats nothing to do with the original question ) merely voiced a concern. your responce is hardly indicative of someone whos asked a question and is open to answers.

Brummy i'm more than open to answers to the question i asked but i find it all too common these days on internet forums for people to feel the need to post a reply to a thread without answering the question just to get a response.It's not helpful and it's not wanted either!

Yes it is true i haven't posted much on here unlike yourself with 5000+ posts even though i've been registered almost 4 years the same as yourself.This is simply because i always search before asking a question and i prefer to walk 300 yards(not miles)to my nearest pub to talk bollox

I asked the question because i was concerned about the method of fitment of Ibiza front wheel bearings and to see if the garage missed something as they don't work on Ibizas every day of the week.I trust them but the fact that the 1st wheel bearing moved gave me cause for concern so i thought the best place to seek advice would be from people who have actual knowledge of this task...i.e here on a Seat forum.

But as nobody replied with anything helpful on here i ended up getting the answer from the Skoda forum and posted as such.Strange that even though i've found the answer elsewhere people still feel the need to have a poke just to try and get a response??

Anyway i'm off to the pub so keep rattling those keys boys
