Can this be a pain in the back side? I can imagine removing them is easy enough but is there an ounce of skill required to re-align them? Just want to know if its worth the hastle to make working space for a spot of welding.

Cheers mk2 massive :D

never done it my self, but theres a few bolts on the top side under the bonnet, and i imagine if you open the door there will be some more bolts, and thats about it. alignment is all about patience, or marking it with masking tape before you remove.

stick it on - do all the bolts hand tight+ tweak and manipulate to match door gap and bonnet so it stays where you leave it and tighten slowly and evenly

check check and undo / align as required

i usually leave every other bolt out until its spot on

Patience

I think I have spotted all the bolts, there maybe a few near the front bumper as mine seems to have the complete prefacelift wings on.

It does sound like fun, Think Ill end up doing it though as more space will help with a tidier job. It would be nice to replace them with fibre glass units.

Its easy, as said put it on, finger tight all bolts and make it fit. May only take a min, or could take a while. Just keep at it till your happy!

Saying that they probably weigh begger all, the bonnet would be much more beneficial.......now who can make moulds? :)

My Dad :D lol but seriously fibreglass ones would probably wiegh more than original wings

Anyway dont forget the 2 bolts underneath the sill and i think theres another 1 behind the arch liner that can be a barstard, they were all caked in underseal and crap on mine which doesnt help when your trying to get the socket on in a confined space lol

They aligned back up again easily, i just had to move the front of the wing along slightly on the bonnet shut line...job done :p

Got me thinking, there must be a few people who would consider a light weight bonnet ;)
