Jeese, I did save myself a bit of cash doing it myself

The rear beams and wishbones were nuts mate, had to be burned out with the oxyacetalene burner. No way I could have done it myself and watching the whole process I'm really glad I didn't.

£500 I mentioned included the new tyres, fitting and balancing.

Rear beam is standard LCR, front and rear wishbones were both TT parts. Top mounts all standard LCR.

As you can imagine, looking at my total bill and the fact I had the suspension waiting to go on and this week off work I didn't want to wait for the mounts (and extra expense) from Issam.

Na fair enough, car must be feeling ace now

It certainly does. :) Exhaust next (since my backbox looks to be on the way out) and then ARBs.

The biggest difference I've noticed is the high speed sweeping bends on the dual carriageway. Car used to feel a little skittish but feels alot more stable and composed now.

does look a nice height, just got to decide myself now to go for this kit or 50mm weitec

that extra 1cm really is a tough choice as daft as it sounds. I'm after this 70% for looks and the remainder handling, this isn't as bigger issue for me as some tbh but saying this that cm can make all the difference with scraping surprisingly im thinking of playing safe with the kw's, decisions decisions!

that second pic from side on does look a nice height, granted it's a massive drop but it doesn't take away the fact it sits really nice now.

Scraping is more often than not caused by the front end diving under braking. This doesn't happen with the Weitec Ultra GT coilover kit, the front doesn't dive much at all. Mine is 50mm down at the front and it never ever hits speedbumps.

i would just be going for the spring and damper kit so it more than likely wouldn't be as stiff i wouldn't have thought, i know i'm likely to se a 30mm drop which normally isn't a huge amount but that splitter is a nightmare, plus im not sure if thats even the lowest point of the car more worryingly without checking anyway:confused:

I fitted the weitec ultra gt suspension kit (not coilovers) to my ibiza not long after christmas and have been very happy with it. My oem suspension was crashy and not that good. This is lower 30mm front and rear and is slightly better handling than my brothers old 1.8t cupra ibiza, also more comfortable than my old oem suspension. It was win win all round for me. My toyo px4's looked worse than those falkens when i took them off last week. both this suspension and my old suspension wore the inside bald. anyone know how to get round that? Im having powerflex poly bushes fitted to try and help. also had it 4 wheel aligned at autowise in a town called Eastbourne.

maybe a stupid question but whats the differences between tt bushes as apposed to polies?

Poly bushes are just that, they are not made of rubber like the OEM bushes.

sorry, wasn't very clear what i was asking was i??

i know what poly bushes are, have had them on a number of my cars.
i was asking are the tt bushed poly as standard or a better compond rubber than the leon ones if so in what way or a different design.

I have the KW v2 kit on my Leon, got the ARB & Pollybushes done all at the same time and as you say the car feels a lot more sure-footed when in hi-speed corners, you should notice it even more when you get around to the ARB's.

Very interesting comments on the tyres as well... (i'm running 225/40/18) i had the Avon ZZ3 and thought that they were OK in the wet (nothing great, but OK) but terrable in the dry when pushing hard. Now have the Falken 452 and they are far better in the dry, but a bit scary if you hit standing water.

I find that the Avon's dont give any feedback as to when they are about to lose grip, where the Falken & before that my Kohmo (712 i think - not sure) i can hear & then get a slight change in the feedback from the steering wheel just before they lose grip.

On track the Avon's are total rubish, as they have a lot of tread-blocks they overheat too quickly and the grip goes, the Falkens did not (would take 8 hards laps of Knockhill to get them going off).

Also the car looks great when lowered just that wee bit, i would say you could go a bit lower (10/15mm) on the back just to set it off, but thats personal choice ;)
