Would agree with both of you above
Avon are for sure not cheap, i just did not like them at all - very much down to the car & driver, could my setup & style of driving not work well with the Avon's ??
I dont pick the dearer rubber as it's not likely to last that long, road conditions, punctures & track days all kill the rubber so it's a Cost Vs Grip issue for me, will the Falkens lose say 10% grip over a more costly tyre but i can get twice as many for the cost of AN-Other tyre.....
All interesting and good fun, but interesting to note that there is no sientific info on tyres, what compound is the best, wear rates, cornering grip)...... only what us guys comment on
